One of the Best Free Things This Year So Far

  2014 has been a pretty good year for awesome gifts and sales.  This month is no exception!  One of the best gifts in SL this year so far (in my opinion) is this set of doll heads from Coco.  She is giving ALL of her older mesh heads away for free.  They are meant to be worn with the mesh doll body so if you don't have this you might have some trouble using these.  I have the doll body so I could use it BUT I wanted to see if I could find a way to wear it without one.  I had to change my shape a lot, sort through a million skins to find one that matches the head, find a hair that was unrigged to fit over the head and cover the back of the neck, AND find an alpha layer to remove just the avatar head.  Sigh.  It was a lot of work.  Worth it though!

  This dress is also an awesome gift.  S@bbia always has cool group gifts so I wasn't surprised to see this great dress.  I wasn't sure what standard size I could wear with the shape I had to make for the head so thankfully this dress also had a fit mesh option.  Score!
  My hair is from Elikatira and is not free BUT until August 22nd you can get each color pack for only 99L.  That's a dang good deal for high quality, original mesh, in packs that have lots of color options in each.

Creepy Doll - Horrorfest time!

Hello there! This is the time of year that I love most in SL, the days near Halloween, because the creepy creature in me can shop until drop, and this year in particular have some amazing events and new stores for me, and it made me all happy in my pants.

The place where I found many of them is on Horrorfest, that will open to public today, 11:59PM SLT.

Much happiness abounds in Edenland upon learning that Bettiepage Voyager has reopened the Drowsy sim and there are gifties! I first read it here at YukaChoco Magic's adorable blog and I squeed at a few friends and TP'd right over.  Here is the skinny on the amazing goodies:  They aren't just sitting out for you to grab.  You are going to have to work for them but anyone I know that knows about BP agrees she is genius and the redesigned sim is a wonder to explore.  You are going to be looking for 8 old leather boxes.  The first one is near where you tp in so you can see what you are looking for.  Drowsy is no-fly so you get to hike around - I ended up under bridges and in caverns but Marleen Vaughn and I divided the search and that made it easier and a lot more fun.  (You can TP each other.)

I ran into Weronika while out and about yesterday and promised her she would be the first to blog the next thing but I also got a notice from Blah about new group gifts and lucky boards so I went to check it out, so I guess I'm a liar, too.  The VIP group is 100 L to join but within a matter of minutes I had scored some new group gift lingerie, a subscriber gift and 2 items from the group only lucky board.  There are also 2 boards for non-members with exclusive items as well as gifts for the non-pay group and subscribers, so I am quite impressed with hOShi Kimono's generosity with customers (and everything comes in tat layers for more bonus!).  All in all, not too bad of a day!  I'm sure with a new month of hunts and the upcoming holiday of luv (hurls), we will be seeing a lot of pink and red.  Bring it.

I was cruisin' thru one of my fave Lady Gaga gear stores Diram when I spotted this simple yet smexeh $1L sheer lingerie dress waiting patiently to be scooped, along with tons of other $1L gifties in the corner. Check out the flirty, flouncy peek-a-boo lace skirt situation on this naughty number; a certain someone was a big fan of this peek-a-boo, see-thru look.
This $1L pose is good for pretending to cover up the nips. Heh. *mwuahs Suri*
I paired this dress with some free lace-topped stockings by Mirrors + these double-buckle, "peek-a-boo" toe boots, which come free courtesy of Mayden Couture. I actually don't own any '80s throwback stuff in RL (kinda on fashion principle) but I was glad to make a SL exception for these open-toe boots here.

Kiss Me, I'm Irish! Or At Least, Green.

St. Patty's Day is everybody's fave time to slip on something green, and this month's $1L suuuperlowriders jeans gift from Cynful (which covers, well basically, none of the buttie at all) were a ready-made excuse for moi to throw together a greenies look.
This fabby skin from La Vie landed in my do-not-miss pile. The skin is part of an entire avi (including the skin, vest + panties shown here) that's available for $1L (another one for guys too). -- The stage queen-heavy brows, frex + full lips come together to compose an expressive face; plus I like this all-over body tattoo, especially the Celtic patterns adorning the backs of the hands.

St. Patty's got creators busting out all sorts of fun things, like these fun oversized green sketchbooks by BP that you can hold.
I want to point out my earrings from the Talisman store (a store that is new to me). Creator Hazel Kyrgyz has set out a wall of jewelery for $1L or free. Some of these pieces are just for fun (like the burnt toast earrings in the Styling Credits below) but these pretty peacock feather + yellow gold ones were too cute to pass up.

Oh god I hate it when I wake up, and it's raining, been raining all night. Dark skies at 7am are just wrong. Specially on a Weds, specially when mini Ash decided at 2.30am that there was no way on earth she could sleep in her own bed. Specially when she takes up my whole damn bed.

Next we have a gorgeous opening dollarbie from Amaranthus, a new project from Elbereth Nightfire of Star Kindler fame. This is a bit of a departure from the jewelery we are used to from this talented designer, featuring Victorian gothic pieces that are just stunning. The perfect foil for these gorgy silks from Silk & Satyr, also an opening gift. Do hit up the subscribo, and do spend lots of lindens in this yummy store, it's my first choice for silks.......srsly.



And here is where Ash got thoroughly fed up today!!! Ash and Q were looking decidedly similar, so here we have the new (for the moment) Ash! I'm prob the only one that can tell the difference, but that kinda counts..right?!

I have to admit, the thought of hunting at 300 stores scared me a little, also the strain of my already ridonculous inv had me fearing sim crashes and all sorts of other madness on Ash. So with that in mind, the only choice is to do it as Q. Also, my personal plan of attack is to go to my favie stores first, then have some exploring time, going to stores I've never heard of before.



This first outfit is the hunt gift from Little Heaven. The ears are made of total win, all floppy and pierced!! You even get 2 types of hair with this gift, but I had a hell of a time trying to get them to look right so I haven't shown them.



An amazing gift from Wretched Dollies shown with shoes from Nonko. You get a choice of aprons to wear with this outfit, I chose the ones with bunnehs on it of course!! The gorgy skin is the gift from Chaos By Design. The pack also has mens skins too, yay for the boys!



And lastly on today's hunt agenda is the outfit from Bare Rose. Shown with the TOTALLY NOT FREE NEW HAIR FROM ETD. Can't wait till the stores properly up and running, oh Elika how I've missed thee!! How amazing is this suit. It's from Dilly Dolls and is their Vain Hunt gift. I was actually there doing the Betrayed Heart hunt, but when I landed (literally) on the Vain lips, how could I resist! The stunning rosary I've worn in various ways throughout this post is from Balderdash. It's not free, but 50% of the proceeds will go to the Bushfire Appeal. So it's the end of Boxing Day here. I'm sick, minime is sick and it's official......other peoples kids suck like woa!! Q's hubby has gone home for 5 days, so there is much sadness, txt messaging and token msn sessions!! And digesting (yup ate so much I swear I'm still trying to digest it all XD!)
