The last month and a half has been crazy for me, with RL and SL. I did manage to get some time this weekend to do some things in SL that didn't involve work, many of them being art related.

I went to the art exhibit featured on the YOSHIKAZE/HUMlab sim. It has 4 artist featured, with a common theme, Sound. It is something often overlooked in Second Life, most of us turn off all the noise, and only turn it back on for events and parties.

A long time friend and fellow designer, Alpha Auer, was one of the artists asked to participate for this exhibit. Her exhibit features sound pillars, which you have to listen to to hear a specific sounds. The sound combination you need to find will be played before you head out and interact with the pillars. What happens when you find it? You get the nifty outfit above! 

The set is unisex, includes a male skin, female skins and various attachments.

I'm not sure how much longer it will be on for, it has already been going on for a bit now. So head on over when you have some time, turn on your SL sound, and listen your way to an awesome gift.

The relaxing scent of Lavender

I arrive at home. 

After a busy busy weekend I just wanted to relax.

So I thought I'd do the same in sl. Let it all hang out(well maybe not all!). 

The Lavender Hill Hunt has started, and yes, every blog under the sun is covering it. So . . . no . . .I'm not going to get all crazy, but I will show you one item from the hunt. This lead to me creating a whole look, that had nothing to do with the item itself, but hey, you don't mind, eh?

Bellissimo Shapes has a new group gift, called Cinder. I normally wear my own custom made shape, but I thought I'd try out something new, and was pleasantly surprised. The face is really nice, and I really like the lip shaping.

This jewelry set is not free, but I really liked the swirly stones, so I thought I'd share =)

These boots are a new group gift from Loordes of London. There are also a few other events the store is a part of, so check out the signs when you go to pick this up.

This low table, high table and plushy little seat are from [CIRCA]. This is their offer for the Lavender Hill Hunt. You will have to look for 2 objects to get the full set. The Low table has a cute meadow scene with butterflies, and the tall one has a well with a bucket, and a little bird on a hill.

I thought I'd show a view of what is inside the tables. This is a shot from inside the tall one. I am really tempted to put pets or something in there. little geckos running around in a fairy meadow? WHY NOT?

I do not wear much jewelry in SL. As a RL designer, I tend to be picky with what I see in here, I think due to most of it being so symmetrical. Also it gets in the way when I make hair, and who would want jewelry overshadowing their products in an ad? 

I have enjoyed Finesmith's designs, I think due to a lot of it being NPIRL (not possible in real life) and the fact that 1/2 of their pieces aren't perfectly mirrored. There is also metal options in most cases, so you aren't stuck with a design that you would have loved more had it been in gold. Why SL is so filled with silver jewelry, i don't understand.

Why am I blabbing about all this?

Finesmith has their VIP group open for a week, until March 7th. This is group normally comes with a pricey join fee, so I would say hop on in it while you can. It is worth it, as there are two gifts a month, first dibs on notices on the various discounted events they are in and VIP discounts from time to time.

Now, I am really excited to show you this find! Well the two of them, yes there are two awesomesauce things I found on SLM. One is this lipgloss. It is the best I have in inventory, and the fact that it is free is crazy. The Designer offering this up is Beyond Sinister. Seems she had a store, and is now reopening. She only has this gloss and a dress up on SLM so far, but I will be watching to see what else pops up. Maybe if we all rate this gloss she will make some more items for us? Just a thought.

Secondly is this mer set. When not designing, or in my own demony form, I do enjoy me some mer action. I tend to use a land AO, so I slither around on the ground. It is very fun to shop in, hehe, freak out the fashionistas at the hotspots! Anyways, this tail, tho in a dreaded colour, ick! is nicely detailed, so much so that I am wearing the dreaded colour to show you the set!

The colourful world of Shop Free*Style

You'd be surprised right along with me to find out that the above shot is is raw from Second Life. Other than the name and border, it was all SL. Yay for playing with shadows and windlight.

To those who know me *Waves* I am back, working on new projects, and of course, blogging. While I have not been online per say, my RL sister(Cherelle Capra of CIRCA) keeps me up to date.

Free*Style has always been a love for me. I joined the group in it's early creation, posting things that I found on the grid(in the beginning it was just a bunch of us out finding things), later I posted as a designer, until finally I joined the blogging team(as a guest designer blogger) in March of 2009. Yes, it will be 4 years as a Free*Styler in a few days. I have always blogged something a bit different, often doing themes, event coverage, or lists of places to find specific things.

While I may not always be posting(that is why the whole guest thing), Free*Style is always a part of my SL. It is with great honor that my sister and I were able to help with the next phase of it's life, helping to bring Shop Free*Style to fruition.

Now that the shop is live(as in open to public), I got out of my hermit hole to show you my top picks of opening day.

I have always been a collector of eyes, and our very own Rosemarie Indigo of Banana Banshee has a few things out at the shop(like many of our bloggers here at Free*Style). These eyes are in her gacha, only L$5 per play. There are a bunch of colours, showing here the emerald. So yay, got green on my first try, then guess what Stringer fans? I got the rose, which isn't rose, well not to my eyes, it is PINK! GAAAAA!

The totally awesome neon GREEN skin is by our very own Sileny Noel, in the gacha she set up. It is packed with "The Unusuals" skin collection, and only L$5 per play. LOVE!

The lashes are from Butterfly Kiss Boutique, and while the store itself is not yet open, there are a few items at Shop Free*Style. The label will be focusing on lashes for it's mainstay product, so it isn't any wonder that one of their free items is this curly set.

I also have Squeek's free offer on, which is a set of eyeliners. Yes, I am wearing a whole set of eyeliners! Jks, I have on the blue.

The thing that inspired this whole look, which I was going to blog even before I saw what else was in the shop, was this top from Spyralle. This is right up my ally, since my aim has always been to either cause a headache from the vibrating colours, or to look like a munchkin brought up his lunch of poprocks. I think this does both, and though not your typical SL fashion fair, I can't help but love it. I really want to find a neon yellow tutu to go with it, and wear like big @&$ combat boots.

The necklace is from Lasaki, also at the new Shop Free*Style, and it comes with facial tats, which I don't happen to have on.

Also, because I know you are going to ask, the horns are made by me, and I threw them into a gacha at Shop Free*Style. There are 12 colour variations, some normalish, some not so much, and a few in between.

Poses used in this post are all offers at Shop Free*Style, ranging in prices from L$0 to L$10. I was seriously surprised at all the awesome packs, so if you are a blogger yourself, or you post on flickr, or just like to collect poses, it is seriously worth your while to go and look. Some of the L$25 and L$50 packs are jam packed with  pose goodies, which is a serious steal from what you would pay at the stores.

I originally wanted to do an "on location" shoot, and had the help from a fellow blogger and general SLelebrity, Sasy Scarborough. She sent me to Rachel Breaker's sim, which is full of crazy. The shoot didn't really turn out, everything is huge, so to get good photos of both the sim and the avi is not the easiest. Add in shadows, and it is a bit of a nightmare. So I played with one of the shots, and thought I'd share =)

You can't see much of it, but the loft is another awesome gift, only L$1, from CIRCA. The striped shadowing is caused by one of two slated ceiling features in the loft. Hey, It's the Little Things in Life

Today has turned out to be an interesting day.  I was having a full blown panic attack the likes of which I've not had for years; the kind where I think I am having a heart attack and will die at any moment. Since I wasn't dead on the floor I decided to clean and worked through the worse part.  When I logged on SL a friend IM'ed me right away (which I hate!) and invited me to chat with some other people.  My usual response is to politely decline, but I didn't, and I got exactly what I needed.  Then Marleen Vaughn, who I remember from way back in the day from her store, Marly's, which I adored for her funky retro styles, contacted me about her new store, Vaughn's.  She is having a little hunt at her store for 3 items, the pipe, the scissor's necklace and the lovely grey top.  She is sweet and I am so glad to see her back in action.

Cupcakes has been having a hunt all month at their sim with fantastic prizes: Skins, clothes, eyes.  Several of the sim stores also have hunt items and all are free.  They are easy to find and it's a lovely sim to visit. I don't know why but I particularly loved the cold grey eyes that came in a large set.  Nice size, which I'm very fussy about.  Another little thing that I found on a recent journey is this Maori-style chin tat as a subscriber gift at Miss Shippe's studio.

It is refreshing to find that SL does include lots of cool people, some who are friends that care, some who do their own thing and make interesting items.  No drama, no heartache.  Just people at their comps, probably in their jammies drinking coffee or whiskey.  Good times.

Your Skin & Your Shape has a new group gift and it has been worth the wait.  Megan is a lovely skin with a soft glow to the face.  The group is free to join which seems to be a rarer thing to find these days.  This adorable dress is from X*plosion and it is from the Depraved Summer Nights Hunt.  It comes in two versions (one without flowers) as well as a black bra layer (or you can go without the bra for a clean line).  This was my first visit to this store and I really liked it.  When you visit make sure to visit the discount area where there are boxes with tons of freebies from eyes to skins to clothing.  Thank you to both designers for their kind generosity.

We have a huge variety of people in the group, Lucky Chair Stalkers, so I see lots of Lucky Chairs and Midnight Manias.  Julya Lykin, one of our lovers of the sexy look, hollered about the Midnight Manias at Crave.  Crave is the place that goes absolutely nuts at the holidays with their lucky chair full of sex candy holiday outfits.  I had not been there for ages so I had to go peek and I was like "OOO" at the latex.  Not what I would wear to shop FLF or a DU event but there are certain times when latex has it's special uses.

I just need to yack for a quick minute before I get to photos (which you are probably looking at anyways).  I hope to blog this (when I can actually find time to hunt) but there is a sweet little hunt called The Starry Night Hunt at the Lucid sim.  It is only for one week and started on Friday so you might want to go there before you forget.  Lots of the free Grand Opening gifts are also still available.  Several independent creators have made special items for the hunt that are either 0 or 1 Linden.  This sexy shape below is one of the hunt items and is at (census) for only 1 L.
