The colourful world of Shop Free*Style

You'd be surprised right along with me to find out that the above shot is is raw from Second Life. Other than the name and border, it was all SL. Yay for playing with shadows and windlight.

To those who know me *Waves* I am back, working on new projects, and of course, blogging. While I have not been online per say, my RL sister(Cherelle Capra of CIRCA) keeps me up to date.

Free*Style has always been a love for me. I joined the group in it's early creation, posting things that I found on the grid(in the beginning it was just a bunch of us out finding things), later I posted as a designer, until finally I joined the blogging team(as a guest designer blogger) in March of 2009. Yes, it will be 4 years as a Free*Styler in a few days. I have always blogged something a bit different, often doing themes, event coverage, or lists of places to find specific things.

While I may not always be posting(that is why the whole guest thing), Free*Style is always a part of my SL. It is with great honor that my sister and I were able to help with the next phase of it's life, helping to bring Shop Free*Style to fruition.

Now that the shop is live(as in open to public), I got out of my hermit hole to show you my top picks of opening day.

I have always been a collector of eyes, and our very own Rosemarie Indigo of Banana Banshee has a few things out at the shop(like many of our bloggers here at Free*Style). These eyes are in her gacha, only L$5 per play. There are a bunch of colours, showing here the emerald. So yay, got green on my first try, then guess what Stringer fans? I got the rose, which isn't rose, well not to my eyes, it is PINK! GAAAAA!

The totally awesome neon GREEN skin is by our very own Sileny Noel, in the gacha she set up. It is packed with "The Unusuals" skin collection, and only L$5 per play. LOVE!

The lashes are from Butterfly Kiss Boutique, and while the store itself is not yet open, there are a few items at Shop Free*Style. The label will be focusing on lashes for it's mainstay product, so it isn't any wonder that one of their free items is this curly set.

I also have Squeek's free offer on, which is a set of eyeliners. Yes, I am wearing a whole set of eyeliners! Jks, I have on the blue.

The thing that inspired this whole look, which I was going to blog even before I saw what else was in the shop, was this top from Spyralle. This is right up my ally, since my aim has always been to either cause a headache from the vibrating colours, or to look like a munchkin brought up his lunch of poprocks. I think this does both, and though not your typical SL fashion fair, I can't help but love it. I really want to find a neon yellow tutu to go with it, and wear like big @&$ combat boots.

The necklace is from Lasaki, also at the new Shop Free*Style, and it comes with facial tats, which I don't happen to have on.

Also, because I know you are going to ask, the horns are made by me, and I threw them into a gacha at Shop Free*Style. There are 12 colour variations, some normalish, some not so much, and a few in between.

Poses used in this post are all offers at Shop Free*Style, ranging in prices from L$0 to L$10. I was seriously surprised at all the awesome packs, so if you are a blogger yourself, or you post on flickr, or just like to collect poses, it is seriously worth your while to go and look. Some of the L$25 and L$50 packs are jam packed with  pose goodies, which is a serious steal from what you would pay at the stores.

I originally wanted to do an "on location" shoot, and had the help from a fellow blogger and general SLelebrity, Sasy Scarborough. She sent me to Rachel Breaker's sim, which is full of crazy. The shoot didn't really turn out, everything is huge, so to get good photos of both the sim and the avi is not the easiest. Add in shadows, and it is a bit of a nightmare. So I played with one of the shots, and thought I'd share =)

Yesterday has to go down on record as one of the weirdest days of the year. I had been clinging onto the hope it was a full moon, and therefore perfectly rationalised ahem....not to be!

This amazing dress is from Primalot. I actually read a post on The Freebie Telegraph about a jewelery set, the story behind it alone was enough for me to instantly TP. There are 2 lucky chairs aswell as a whole freebie section. The necklace shown is part of that very special set, read about that here. The gorgy wings are from Fancy Fairy. I don't remember if I bought them, or if they are an old gift. Whutevs, they're my faves!!

Fashion as Therapy aka. *le sigh*

(and exhale...) *ahhhhhh* I've had a tough week, and forgoing any details let's just say "thank goodness for shopping!" I am from the camp that believes that shopping IS therapy. Mine at least! I mean, I'll sit on a couch any day, but it better be swathed in rosy velvet and be very very comfortable. Then I can sit and try on shoes with you. ;))

Aside from the RL tough parts, my SL life has been a breeze. No boy drama, no bad purchases, and I got lucky a LOT. Which for me, is the ultimate mood booster. I don't need drugs people, just give me this hot pink muffler from DP*yumyum. (Ok, a cosmo too, only because it matches ;)) The muffler is a gift on the new lucky boards in the store and let me tell you- soo pretty! It comes with button/no button options and that big bow makes a girl's heart swell. 

I also stopped by the juicy sim and ooohhhh, all of us can get lucky here! I picked up some Kookie shoes, and so should you! If you don't own any of her awesome designs yet, now is your chance to scoop some up for free! After you decide they are amazing and want more, run over to her store and buy some of her cute muggys (my new non-free fav). After all...they are all 50% off! This won't last forever so make haste.

I'm also wearing sn@tch's dragonfly dress, which is cute and a little nasty too. I like ;)) It comes with the leggings and bangles, so one can layer up or layer down as she pleases.

This bracelet is from Violet Voltaire, and it's also available at the Juicy sim! The matching earrings, pictured below, are a grand opening gift from Tuli's new sim Journey. So you can sim hop to complete the set! (We all know Tuli from the amazing skins Adaire wore in the post below. Not to mention the skins we've bought and wear all the time.)

Violet is also having a 50% off sale for all pink items, ONLY at her store @ Journey. I'm a big fan of Violet's sweet/tart jewelry and if you haven't seen it, all it takes is a look to fall in love.

I noticed you eyeing my skin, o thank you, it's La Sylphide's newest Lucky Chair prezzie! (Thank you Ash for the tippie.) Gorgie isn't it? I love the matte red lips and the slit of green eyeshadow. It's called party girl, I assume because it's dressier makeup. I, on the other hand, call it party girl because I wanted to throw one after putting it on! Another instant mood booster.

These purdy chokers were sent over to me by Sanu Collars owner Sanura. They are at once, very beautiful, a little tough and quite sexy. Each choker comes with a glow/non-glow option and you can put scripts in them if you'd like it to function as a collar!

Personally, I'm quite happy to see chokers like this, they differ from the usual plain black leather/spikes/pearls variety yet remain very versatile. 

I love the details on them! Zoom in, they are flawless.

This design is available only in the lucky chair and I think it's the most elegant & cool Halloween choker I've come across in SL! I like orange so I'll be wearing this year round for sure.

Raspberry Love Goddess and other fine tales

In the last few days I've come across some gorgeous pink dresses. The color of fresh raspberry juice: bright & sweet..lil bit tart. ;)) It's getting to be ball gown season. For some this is year round, for me, I synonymously think of ball gowns and the darkness of autumn. Pay it no mind- I read a lot as a child; I saw too many Disney films. ;) 

Slipping on dresses like these bring me back..

And what is this? A perfectly matching headdress? These flowers are like lollipops from nature. I feel like an updated, hippie version of Glenda the Good Witch. I guess I should take the time to tell you about my obsession with Life is Good. This sim is just gorgeous: Ino Jie & Porta Fosse have made a sim from my dreams. Ino is fantastic artist (I own a couple of her pieces) and SL gardener; her ivy, sweet clover and strawberries adorn the elven arch at my home and make me smile every time I pass through. Porta has an amazing musical performance space and I have been waiting with perked ears for a sign of a concert. (Until then I will wait patiently as I listen to my Music is Good radio- not free- available at the sim.) 

This headdress makes me so so happy, instant happiness like instant coffee. It is a group gift from the LIG update group, and I urge you to join, retrieve said headdress, wear and take pictures in it, while dancing naked with your favorite people in a field of daisies. *le sigh* Pretty things do this to me.

I'm also wearing the lipgloss gift from the BP* group. (see 2nd post photo, above.) Like prim nails, it's prim lipgloss and will instantly make your lips softer, shiner, pinker. If it doesn't fit just right, go into your edit menu and adjust each linked part independently.

BP*'s BettiePaige also sent the group this pumpkin patch today. Be prepared, it's big! (Only 12 prims though.) A perfect scene for all your Halloween pictures, it has three pumpkins so you can pose with all your friends! 

This pumpkin head, necklace and shirt/underwear set is from the Isle of Tranquility's Halloween giveaway. There are little carts set all around the sim, so you can walk around and trick or treat early. The pumpkin head can be found outside iTuTu- the ultra cute garden shop, along with some spiderwebs for your home. You can pick up the necklace from Amerie's Naughty shop and then hop on by Den-Dou for the bloody (and also unbloody) clothes set (and the amazing limited edition Vampire skin Olivia wrote about on Oct 1st, not free).  There's also some lit up branches and this beautiful dress Adaire wrote about from DP*YumYum.

Wrapping it up is this fine number from Butterfly Princess. Sexy, frilly, feminine and dark (when paired with Ashia's fab Halloween skin), it's simply perfect.
