FFL Ending and Krystal Beginnings

Hi Free*Stylers!  Most years we have made a huge deal of the annual Fashion for Life event that benefits Relay for Life.  I've been pretty swamped this year with RL and blogging the event on my own blog but I didn't want it to end on the 20th without mentioning it.  The emphasis is not really on freebies, nor should it be, as the charity is so worthy, but there are some gifts spattered about the sim as well as gacha areas in each area and a hunt.  The hunt, though not free, is a great way to pick up some bargains from favorite designers.  Each store has at least 3 special vendors that offer exclusive items where 100% of the proceeds will be donated to charity.  Most stores will move these vendors to their stores once the fair has ended but the organizers have really gone out of their way to make the experience enjoyable. The event is spread out over 10 sims and every time I have returned it has been rather lag free.  The sims are themed and well built (my personal favorite is DreamSeeker Volta as I am a huge Frank Lloyd Wright buff).  The link for FFL above will give you any further information you need, including the prizes for the amazing raffle, a map of the sims as well as included stores, and hopefully soon a photo of Harper Beresford dressed as a pig, if an overall goal is reached.

The gown I am wearing is one of the five donation gowns offered by Kouse's Sanctum at FFL.  It's a gorgeous gown that really shows what incredible range Kouse has.  Her gowns are very popular amongst RP folks, particularly medieval-based groups, but she can do so much more. She has always dabbled in jewelry making but has decided to go beyond that and open Krystal, a fine jewelry store.  She is holding a photo contest until March 23rd.  Simply take a photo of yourself wearing one of the new Krystal products making sure you include your full avatar name in the photo title and post it so the Krystal Flickr group.  Everyone who enters will win a prize.  1st place winners will get the opportunity to inspire the next Krystal set as well as receive ALL sets available in the store in the metal of your choice.  2nd place will 1000L of Krystal jewelry (your choice) and have a future set named after you.  3rd place can chose 500 L worth of jewelry and also have a future set named after you.  So get shopping!

I put on weight, I got a cold and because of my running nose and sore throat I will have to stay in bed for New Year's Eve. Those are the consequences of my Christmas holidays. Still, I had a fabulous time at my family home! I missed SL a little bit tho. So I am glad to be back and to have a chance to blog again:)

Apres-Ski

It's a li'l early for snow bunnie style, but here's what I wore today whilst trekking up to the chalet apres some early-season skiing.

More cold weather finds seemed appropos; the ski goggles, furry hat + puffy down vest are all by General Motors/Rerty Naxos for $10L a pop (these were fun to scoop, but fair warning: the color-change HUD from this store was a bit unpredictable; not sure why). Finally, some stylish Tee*fy suitcases were all that I needed to impress my new superhip deer friends.

Bewitched

Today I felt like ditching the whole traditional black witch thing for this gorges smoky plum, feathery gown that you can grab for free at Cover Girl. A free floppy hat by Djinn & Tonic, a free broomstick + a striking $10L metallic plum makeup layer added festive touches; some free classic 2-row pearls classed it up a notch.
A word about this pose: there's a nice 5-pose set for free by Idea Motus that's way fun for us photogs (i.e., a bit different than your usual ho-hum standing variety, especially if you experiment with different angles). Most def worth a scoop!

Twinkle, Twinkle, Night Bazaar

Today I wanted to take a break from the usual weekend sales routine + tell you about the supercute "Twinkle Night Bazaar" that just opened, where everything is $50L + under.
I'm showing a few things that I thought were particularly pretty. This $50L dress by Tomoto looked plain on the sign; boy am I glad I did a 2nd look. The star-strewn, floaty chiffon top layer makes this tank dress sooo fun to wear. -- I couldn't resist this $35L Duboo starry headband either. Hee.

Speaking of hair things, I'm a Big Time sucker for hair accessories + I absolutely must show you 1 of the cutest hair corsages ever, that you can win in a variety of colors in a $35L per play gatcha. A "floaty" halo of golden stars moves when you wear this thing (!) Ahhh-dorables.
This way fun piece of black lace confectionery was $50L by Un Jour. This is another bouncy skirt with tremendous movement.
The gloriously inky angels' wings back tat (see the pic below) + vintage silver earrings I'm wearing are both free (check the Styling Credits for particulars).

This is really unique bazaar is all walkable on an upwards sloping hill (there's a free pair of kimono-like clogs at your right near the bottom starting point). Other gifties are available for free or cheap (actually, some of the cutest things aren't clothes, like a $25L hand fan by Dustarrz that comes with a self-fanning animation)! There's also a free blue short hair (near the top of the hill) for anyone into the fun costumey thing.

British Invasion

A little birdie told me that Sey has a new group gift out, which was reason enough to have my regular look-see at their very generous "front counter" area. Strawberry Fields Forever

Some crazy cold weather in my RL neck of the woods has me yearnin' for summer days, but good. Check out this free red-trimmed, strawberry print tank dress by Honey*Soul, which I was totally using to channel my warm weather mood. -- I just had to take a stroll thru some grassy fields whilst wearing it.
Free casual cherries bandana hair from the Trico lucky board (complete with yummie mouth cherries!) + free multi-colored "drop hoops" by Gems & Kisses were all it took to create a blissfully lazy Beatles song moment. Ahhh.

Blue Bonnet

One of my fave SL costume stores Deviance has a super-romantic new hunt gift that is really worth grabbing. This cornflower blue + gold studded look exudes a sweet girlish innocence with just a smidge of smexeh.
Attention to detail is what makes the Deviance clothing something special. For some reason to me, this outfit was also totally channeling that girl on the Blue Bonnet margarine box.
What? Margarine is bad for you? And I have too many hair accessories on? Double oh noes.
