Shop Free*Style Fridays - Look 1

 As you all may have read last month here on Free*Style, Eden Knoller, then Co-Owner of Free*Style, has left the team due to RL obligations. Due to the demanding position of anyone owning a blog, much less one of this stature, which hosts a team of writers, has an inworld presence and a shop dedicated to promoting many of the grids designers, it's not a job any one person should have on their shoulders. That being said, I have stepped up out of the shadows as a behind the scenes staff member, and have taken on the new role of Co-Owner, along side Sileny Noel.

You, as readers, wont see any big changes, it'll still be the same Free*Style you love and enjoy. Most of the magic I will do will take place behind the scenes.

Free*Style was the first big community in sl that I ever participated in. Back in the day I was one of the freebie scouters, who would go various place(when I wasn't working) and I'd post landmarks, links or notecards full of places for our group members to enjoy. I later became a Guest Designer Stylist on the blog, and have now been blogging here for 4 years.

With comments being turned off on the blog, and the inworld group now being disbanded, I feel that there is a lot less opportunity for your voices to be heard. I have made a Form, which will allow you to have a voice with the Team of Free*Style. There is a section each for Info Submissions, Suggestions and Comments. Each part is explained more thoroughly on the Form itself. You can let us know about something awesome you found while shopping, like a new store, a lucky board, an event. You can suggest things for us to do in the future. You can even tell us how you liked a certain post, a link isn't working right, where get that hair from(example of us forgetting to credit something). You get the idea.

With all that being said, I am doing a new weekly post called Shop Free*Style Fridays, which will feature various designers at our very own Shop Free*Style.

Two Quick Looks

So My UglyDorothy is retiring all of her skins.  This makes me omg sad because I love her skins so much!!  Right now you can get all the skins in the store for half off.  There is also a wall that has 10 different dollarbie skins on it so grab those if you haven't already!!  I decided to use the two most recent to put together looks so you can see what you can do with them.  For one of the dollarbie skins I wore this top from Pale Empress which is only 50L for Woeful Wednesdays.  If you don't make it today for the sale price you should still check out the store because it is inexpensive for mesh and just really awesome for the glam-gloomy folks.

I wore the second skin with this top from Cargo that is only 10L on the Marketplace.  It's the 'wearable demo" so it costs 10L but it has the logo on front.  Usually I refuse to wear anything with a logo on it but I thought this was fine because Cargo is an actual word and stuff, haha.  You can't see the back but there is a zipper coming down it and it's pretty cute.  If you don't want the logo on the front the plain versions are for sale at the normal price.  Check out the store anyway because it's awesome and doesn't get enough attention. :P

The Arcade: Sneak Peek

The Arcade, a new gacha event opens tomorrow, September 15.  The link at to the left will take you to the official webpage that gives all kinds of details about the event including vendor lists and links for plurk, flickr and their in-world group.  Somewhere around 70 designers will be represented at the event and they are promising something great for everyone.  The Arcade will be a quarterly event and it is expected to be heavily attended!  Because gachas are scripty creatures, the number of people allowed in at a time will be limited.  This is a one spot destination, not a multi-sim event, so plan accordingly and please try and not add to the region burden by wearing/attaching heavy script attachments.

I was fortunate to receive advanced review copies from both Brutus Martinek of Pididdle and Daphne Klossovsky of [HANDverk], who are participating in the event and offering adorable mesh items.  Pididdle will have the adorable, handmade mesh Decor Collar available in 15 yummy textures from lace insets and animal prints to metallics and satins.  They have a sweet little bow in back and gem piece in the center.  There is one rare item.  They are only 50 L per play.

[HANDverk] is offering these yummy Serpent Rings for only $L25 a pop. They are all handmade and are unrigged so that you can resize them, making them a great unisex item.  The black one is the rare prize for these little cuties. 

Remember, The Arcade does not open until tomorrow.  Until then, save some Lindens and clean your inventory!  Then TP here! PS: Qopi told me she is covering the event for Seraphim, so I'm hoping to see a gallery soon!

Happy Independence Day!

Hi all!  Just a quick post so I can get outside and enjoy the holiday!  I wanted to let you know about several great bargains you can find that are American themed and exclusive for the holiday.  I planned on a longer post but in the interest of time I am going to tell you about a few that I think are not to be missed.  Let's begin with the items in the photos.  Two of my favorite stores, Pididdle and Boom, are offering great gifts; Pididdle has a limited edition "Fireworks" set that includes the Hyperlip makeup in both a teeth and no-teeth version and fantastic nails in 2 sizes.  Boom has a special edition of the Ellio bikini.  It has all clothing layers as well as modifiable prim ties and tan line tattoo layers.  Chop Zuey has group gifts for both men and women.  Women get a Home of the Free set of earrings and men get a awesome ring which are adorned with the American Flag.  I personally love Chop Zuey's male jewelry and it works great when resized.  Chop Zuey is a pay to join group but it has weekly gifts for members and so I've recouped my join cost many times over.  Sanu has a special version of her Candy Corn popsicle for only 1 L.  There are 2 versions, one of normies and another for Petites.  It's in a gift box not far from the lucky chair.  I had to pick up Earthstones specially colored version of Bikini Beads.  I have other colors of these and love them.  They are not free but about 100 L less than the other versions!

BARGAIN TIP:  As I noted above I did not get to show all the things I wanted but there are a few that are outstanding deals from really great folks! Cupcakes is having a great sale today only: Special mesh items and bikinis in a special section are only 10 - 25 L as well as all older clothing in red, white or blue is only 10 L.  There are some great items there.   Also the new Emma line of skin has one version marked down to 50 L.  You will find it in all skin tones.  It's a great face and includes a bare version as well as several makeup options, making this a runaway steal.  I've adored Cupcakes for years and this line has to be one of my favorites.  One skin is free!  The trick is you have to find it.  I will give you a hint because I searched all over for it.  It's not boxed like a hunt item and it's right in there amongst the other Emma skins.  Just think a bit outside of the box and you will find it!

Just a Quickie

I got this pink sequined necklace from Pididdle for free at the Zombie Popcorn Carnival and I decided to break away from RL for a couple minutes to show it to you.  It's great!

My makeup is free too from Les Petits Details but I have blogged it before like a couple of times actually I think lol so it's not new but I still love it and, hey, maybe someone hasn't seen it yet. :P

Holiday In the Sun

I am feeling the bright colors showing up right now! Orange and teal seem to be popping up everywhere and I ain't complaining! "Hey Sileny! Ain't isn't a real word!" "Oh yeah? Fetch me a dictionary." *Grabs dictionary and slaps grammar police on the head* Teehee!

Poses: Status. These poses are AWESOME! The poses are made by bloggers who know exactly what a pose needs to be. They have poses made for nails, for big hips, etc. They aren't free but they are worth it.
*Note about the skirt on the dress: It's a sculpted skirt and like all sculpted skirts you should be prepared to have a skirt shape, a straight-hipped AO or a hip alpha. This is with all close-fitting sculpted skirts, I just thought it would be good to share a reminder for folks.

British Invasion

A little birdie told me that Sey has a new group gift out, which was reason enough to have my regular look-see at their very generous "front counter" area. Join the group for $0L + then click the glass panels on the entryway desk; scoop away for oodles of free gifts (remember to click both glass panels; I think the newest gift is one of the belts here).
These free British flag jeans, free red goggles + free black flagged T is just 1 ensemble that you can throw together. I particularly thought this colored safety pins necklace was fun + cute. -- I knew I had some British flava when my proud Londoner friend Rene Caerndow told me so. (She loves to go on about London vs. NYC, etc.).

I will also randomly share that I tried a meat pie the other day for the first time (which Rene later informed me was "peasant food"). Love + fashionista kisses to all!

Rotten Princess

My friend Roxanne Wemyss recently called me to sit on a lucky chair at Rotten Toe, where this lovely free "Tudor" dress, with a fabby lace-edged bubble skirt, was waiting for me. *mwuahs Roxanne*
Rotten Toe creator Elsa Liebknecht has thoughtfully crammed lotsa details into this dress that are tres cute. The matte "shine" texturing, 3/4 lacey cuff sleeves, shoulder pads + neck ruffle add historical flair + a costumey "royalty" touch.
Speaking of costumey "royalty" touches, I couldn't resist slipping on this free pink tiara by Sn@tch @ Relay For Life with this look, which so channels high school prom. (And speaking of the Relay for Life clothing fair that's ending tonite, I just gotta say *huuuge mwuahs* to Sileny + Eden for covering this cancer awareness event so thoroughly. -- You guys rock. Hard.) And since the fashion feeds are all about the new Tuli "Eva" makeups, I remembered this store's previous innocent-yet-sexy "Eva" skin gift that I still love oh so much. A Special Moment

I have some things to show you that I really, really love and one of them even has a very special meaning.
This hair with the cute beret attached is a subscriber gift from Lamb. Also color change is the freaking fabulous unisex scarf from Find Ash. It's actually sized for men and huge so skinny necks like me might need some extra adjusting, haha.
Piddidle released the full set of the these lovely sweaters for only 1L each color. The feather detailing is just lovely and to make me even happier the sets come with a mouth feather :DThe shoes are from *RRS* and are only on sale for a short time so if you want the low price you need to hurry. Like...go now. I love them and they are awesome and you should love them too.And now, the special bit. I won't get into details but this tattoo from Pididdle has a special place in my heart. The tattoo is in honor of the November 13th To Write Love on Her Arms movement. Ray of Light (and Cheesy Titles)

Ray Skin has massive, MASSIVE amounts of adorable free and cheap items, as is usual. They are full of 1L hunt items, group gifts, lucky boards, item camps, you name it. Here are two (there are just too darn many for me to take pics of so you get to see two and then find the rest yourselves :P)

The outfits both come with the hoods that have the hair attached! Woohoo! And each outfit has about ten billion different ways to wear it too. Versatility FTW! The skin I am wearing is one tone of the latest group gift to the Cupcakes update group (100L join fee I think) and it is so pretty. it comes in all the newest tones of the DayDream line and to me it looks so soft, like there is a constant soft focus lens on it. The eyes are the freebies from Pididdle that I am currently obsessed with and don't want to change out of.

Heavenly

I found this amazing white dress for free in honor of Likka House's 2nd anniversary and it made me feel like some sort of majestic angel bride. And the cobweb veil on the 1L Pididdle hair completed the feeling for me, in a spooky Halloween sort of way. So angelic was I feeling that I decided to take my umbrella and float to the clouds.

I made it all the way to Heaven where I sat down and fiddled with the harp for a bit.

I think my bad playing scared the angel's away because I was all alone.

Alone is all right though, less cherubic lag means easier to take photos of this awesome 1L skin from MJ+Dada.Happy Anniversary Likka House!!

Head on down to Pididdle on the Horst sim and pick up this gorgeous free swimsuit for a limited time, to celebrate the new swimsuit line. This is a limited edition colour, so grab it, and a fatpack of the other colours while your there!
