Tender Moments to Savor Forever

Just sayin'.
Sileny lies! Bright colors are not over. I am a fanatic stickler about no white shoes after Labor Day but today I'm siding with good old Nicki Minaj as covered by my second favorite ANTM judge, Andre Leon Talley, on Vogue Daily and continuing the pre-fall color show.  Heaven knows I can shop with the best of them (ask my friends) but today I found so many inexpensive goodies from some of my favorite designers!

SALE!

Ssh, don't tell Justice, but I snuck out of my Be A Boy For A Week challenge,to bring you some amazing smexyness. This is another one of those dash and buy posts! Everything shown here is from Fishy Strawbery (except the hair) and is 50L until the 1st November.

Fae sent me some bangles, way back in '07, when she had a tiny wee store, and it's been incredible to watch her, and her designs go from strength to strength.

There are sales, there there are sales, and this is one you'll kick yourself if you miss.

Everything black is 50L, including the black makeups on Fae's skins. Lan is shown here, the others are just as gorgy, Lan just suits my av the best.

The store will take a bit to rez, and judging by last night, don't be surprised to find yourself standing on someone's head ;P Look out for items marked with pumpkins, and turn your hover tips on just to be doubly sure.

I cannot stress enough, the sale ends on the 1st November, so hurry hurry hurry. Ash Out.

Ello

I'm baaaaaaaack :P Mini Ash and I landed in London 2 mornings ago and it's been pretty much non stop ever since. I saw my brother for the first time in nearly 10 years, and his absolutely gorgeous daughter who turns one next month. I'm so happy to not miss out on all the amazing things that will happen in the first year of my nieces life, and Mini Ash is stoked to have a living doll to play with :P

Seems very fitting that my first post back should be about a European store. We first covered COCO last Christmas, when they spoilt us rotten with an amazing advent event. And while scrolling through the feed yesterday, I caught a post from them with pictures of these super cute overalls. I ran! Hadn't read the post properly at all though, so imagine my surprise when I got there and found out they were a group gift. Squee much? Yes I did :P Join the group using the inviter in the store and touch the pic to receive 3 different coloured overalls, and several other group gifts along that wall, including tops, hats, a super cute pink bag and a scarf, to name a few.

I chose a subscribo gift from Pixel Dolls to go underneath, I just love the white/denim combo. The yummy skin is a limited time gift from Lara Skins, head instore to get yours. I'm off to catch up with old friends and have a goss with my broski, Ash Out.

Great Finds from Great Designers

It's definitely not been a quiet week or two here in SL.  So many designers continue to offer us incredible items for little to no cost.  I cannot thank them enough for sharing with us and giving us a chance to know their work.  Let me show you a few of my favorite finds:
First up is a gorgeous dress from the Lucky Chair at Ivalde.  Designer Nefaria Abel is one of the most generous in SL; frequently updating her Lucky Chairs, having sales and hunts with original designs.  I've been a member of her group for the longest time and have a folder in my inventory as proof.   She has moved her Lucky Chair to the upper level of the new store.  The chair has a short 10 minute wait and usually one of us from "Lucky Chair Stalkers" is there calling letters so it moves quite quickly.  I must thank Beanie Canning from the group "Give It Away" for sharing the info on this adorable dollarbie hair from Liriope.
Dress:  Ivalde: Claretta Blue Dress: Lucky Chair gift
Shoes: Baby Monkey: The Ultimate Vanya  (not free, though group members get a substantial discount)
Hair: Liriope: Liu pink: 1 L
Skin:  Beauty Avatar: Fashion Bloggers Appreciation Gift.  Thank you so much to all the designers who showered us with amazing gifts!  We love you, too!
This stunning gown is also one of many outfits available in the Lucky Chair at Ivalde.  It has rich jewel tones and accents on the shoulders.
Dress: Ivalde: Claretta Green Gown: Lucky Chair gift
Hair: Foam!: The Valerie:  Not Free
Skin: Beauty Avatar: Fashion Bloggers Appreciation Gift
This complete outfit is available at *pop feel* in their camp section.  There are 3 stations set up for the top, skirt and shoes.  This is a great thing to do while sorting inventory.  There are 2 lucky boards in the same area that have items that compliment this.  Thanks again to Beanie Canning for letting one of my groups know about this sweet pageboy style hair available at tomoto.
Outfit including shoes: *pop feel*: Camp items
Hair: tomoto: humanoid. 1 L
Skin: Beauty Avatar: Fashion Blogger Appreciation Gift
Thank you to Wren Ireland for tping me to Little Britain for the lucky chairs.  I scored this skin. The outift is their weekly freebie (in both men's and women's versions) and can be found right above the lucky chairs.  Little Britain also has a Midnight Mania for men and women and several camp chairs that are very popular.

Why So Serious? Read On.

So far this week, I have witnessed the most ridonculous amounts of drama, the majority being Plurk related. Meh. I had my initial enamor, then got totes over it. Also the terribly flea ridden, dead horse of the freebie debate has been flogged so fucking mercilessly it defies comprehension. What has riled me the most, is the hypocrisy of the most vocal opponents of freebies. I cannot stand bullshit of any kind, but this debate srsly gets under my collar, especially when those so "opposed" to freebies then try to use this blog to gain exposure for their store. This blog, and all it's writers have wholeheartedly supported content creators, showing full priced items we have paid for, alongside the dollarbies/freebies they may have to offer. I myself spend thousands each week in stores I love and admire. I have personally "discovered" stores because of their freebies, or because they contacted me. I can think offhand of at least 10 that had not been blogged before they got posted here. Is that the point? No, not really, but to then see these designers slating freebies, when I and my colleagues have spent untold hours taking shots, processing said shots and making sure everything looked as good as possible, at these designer's behest, well it really makes me sad. I'm not sure what the happy medium is. There have been many suggestions thrown into the ether this week. Whatever the outcome, our commitment to content creation remains the same. We want to show you stores you may not have heard of, and if that happens because of a freebie, or lucky chair, is that so bad? If you buy their entire store because you love their designs so much, but saw their store here first, will you spontaneously combust? I think not. Bear in mind, whatever you may spend, we spend probably triple that amount. Why? Because the linden circle must be complete. Quid Pro Quo.

Little Britain has these outfits out now as we speak. One is the weekly freebie, the other is in the MM. Both have male versions, so guys get on it :P

This yummy dress is from Weird Designs. It's only available for a week, at the location linked to in the slurl below. In closing, I think I speak for all the girls, and guys on the blog when I say we are sick of being portrayed as the problem causers. Whatever life you operate in, there will always be someone who has an attitude problem. We show items designers most often ask us to show. We are not snobs, if you send us your item we will review it, unlike some unnamed bloggers I can think of. We want to get stores seen and appreciated, that is the bottom line, bad for the SL economy? Nope. Ash Out.

Patriotic Much?

Not I said the fly! Forgive the eleventybillion pics, I've been distracting myself from a whore of a day. I've spent the day at immigration. A special place. And herein lies the problem. My Permanent visa subclass is 836- A carer visa, meaning I have an Australian citizen (minor) in my care. And while I jumped through all the hoops and crossed all the "I's", enough to gain my residency, apparently that is not enough to get Mini Ash an Australian passport. The problem is, I was not a resident at the time of her birth, although my whole immigration case was based on the fact that she is a citizen, and indeed was granted on that basis. Ever tried to get a passport officer to look up a visa subclass? Dun bother, they are incapable :P

wig3

Anyhoo, enough rantings and onto the good stuffs. Shown above are the latest group gifts from Concrete Flowers and KOSH. That's right!! Subscribo gifts this week. Gorgy girl boxers, 3 pairs of jeans, eyes, shapes and all sorts of other yummies.

wig1

wig2

Remember Wigwambam? I do, and Jojo has been MIA for what seems like an age! Buuuut, she's back, and how. The swimsuit shown is a dollarbie, the dresses are the latest (not free) releases. I look forward to more from this talented designer, indeed one of my faves on the grid to date.

wig4

These 3 skins are from Drlife. They used to be in the lucky chair, but have been made available to the group at the main store. Be sure to wear your tag to get yours. The lush hair I got from the Sn@tch show, courtesy of Adi's bestie Aems from Philotic Energy. I'm sure it's not free now, but it's a wicked style for guys and girls, and totes worth the L's.

<span class=

The "Character" skin is the latest group gift from Rockberry, as blogged so magnificently by Ms Sileny here. You get to see it twice cos it deserves some exposure :p Also, I was lucky enough to get my hands on the latest releases from The Black Canary, that just cried out to be shown.

<span class=

While you won't get these outfits for free, you will find some amazing poses in the lucky board, made with the same attention to detail that Morrigan shows in his incredible designs. The skin shown with the second outfit is also free, from a new to me store called Digital Dollhouse. You'll find all manner of goodies, including skins, shapes, prim nails and more. Thank you for bearing with me, I'm sure there will be much more emo leading up to my departure, and guess what? Y'all get to suffer with me :P Ash Out.

Urgh

So far this week has blown bucketloads. It must be a full moon over here, it really does bring the crazies out, all of whom seem to want to talk to me during RL work. I have felt the urge several times to headbutt my desk while chanting over and over "go away". Unfortunately there is no reasoning with the insanity that is my job, so I'll have to content myself with plotting the death of the IT dick who created our website instead.....satisfying :P

pk2

Thank god for pretty clothes from one of my favie designers. Project Kiwi is a store I've blogged a couple of times and have really enjoyed seeing the newness from there. This gorgeous denim number is a linden for a limited time. You'll find it at the main store with the new releases. Other colours are available for full price too, if green ain't your thang and such. I've shown it with a necklace from Shiny Things, that is a part of a set, not free, but very versatile due to the nifty gem change script.

pk4

These shirts are also a linden from Project Kiwi, again only for a limited time. The jeans! A new store Miasma has these in the fortune teller. You can never have enough jeans in your inv, srsly!

pk3

Staying with Miasma, you'll find this cute tank in the camping chairs, along with all sorts of other goodies, such as a tail and jelly bracelets. Yay for awesome new stores!

pk1

And last but not least, Leigh in our chatbox talked this up so much I had to grab it! While not free, this pack from Pacadi (formerly Maeva) is choc full of yummy stuff. You'll get the dress, necklace, a skin, and 57457 pairs of leggings on all layers! 295L isn't too much to pay for a preview of the new clothing line, grab it while you can. Now time to get mini Ash so we can play dress ups yay! Ash Out.

Poppy Saves The Day!

I remember when I was new, I spent a month on Orientation Island learning stuff, sorting out my "look" and whatnot. I thought I looked pretty spiffy when I hit the mainland infohub. The I saw "her" this vision in a tank top and jeans, with the *most* amazing hair. Why the hell didn't my hair do that, I remember thinking to myself. She sent me a LM to Taunt, there was a hair treasure hunt (not sure if they still do it). I too could have swishy hair!! She also gave me a halter top she had made and I was so stoked. Someone told me about Girl6, and I stood for hours in that store, trying to get my default skin to look like the skin in the posters!! I also was beside myself that I could pick *any* hair in *any* colour I wanted, and Six would give it to me for free.

For so long I walked like I had a stick up my butt, (who knew ao's existed) and so many other funny things I did or said. I would have *killed* for this new resident pack from Popfuzz. You get the clothes shown above, perfect basics that should be in every inv. Also, manicures and pedicures, all of which are gorgeous.

And skins baby. Beautiful, luminous skins with yummy natural makeup, in every tone you can think of.

There's even a neko skin. I tell you, new players will be so spoilt with this pack!! Everyone goes through a Neko phase in SL, I remember how excited I was about getting my first neko skin. It cost a fortune though, but now thanks to Poppy, you get a head start.

Did I mention there's eyes too? There is a colour to suit everyone's taste. They do have prim attachments, so if you're helping out a new friend, you may want to stick around and show them how to torture prims!! Let all the new players you know about this pack, they can grab it from Popfuzz until they're 30 days old. Also direct them to their Library, show them whats in it. Options and choices are good, choices from amazing, established designers are awesome! Save the grid from every new chick wearing "Alina", that's your mission, should you choose to accept it! Ash out.

Project kiwi

A new day, a new start hopefully. It's a long weekend here in Aus, and so far, it's been tres relaxing (apart from my epic hangover today ;)

abomb2

abomb3

Normally, when I have a top or shirt to show off, I immediately reach for my Torridwear dollarbie jeans. But now I have an alternative! For a very limited time, as in get down to Project Kiwi before 8pm slt today, the 2 pairs of jeans shown here are free. You get 3 different versions in each pack and they're totes totally gorgeous. The first shirt is a Valentines gift of the Ash kind from A-Bomb. Even the note card announcing the shirt made me laugh, Lavea is a jaded bitch and hates Valentine's Day, so if you are looking for fluff and hearts, don't bother to come pick up our 1L V-Day tee. Men's and women's versions included on all layers. Hot. The sweater shown is 10L until Sunday, matches my hair perfectly!

abomb5

While I was there, I won shoes on the lucky chair (which I'll show in a later post) and checked out the cheapy section on the second floor. Nothing over 10L, and I found some really cool stuffs!

Title

Urgh, no sleep, no coffee makes Ashia something something. Grumpy? Don't mind if I do.

So many notices, so little patience. This one however from Project Kiwi caught my eye. You get the super cute pants when you join the subscribo, and if you choose number 8 in the history, you'll get the awesome armwarmers delivered to your inv quicker that you can say um gifty! The vest is not free, but at only 50L for 2 versions on all layers, it's value. The shirt in the middle was a subscribo gift Sasy told me about, from Discord Designs.

Seeing Gabi's bewbs awesome post totes cheered me up, reminding me I hadn't been to T.A.R.T for aaaages. The outfit Gabi posted eluded me, due to it being 4am here, and me thinking I really should get back to bed instead of waiting on a lucky chair!

Never fear though! These yummy outfits are available for free in the main store, no waiting or listening to Ash emo required!

The stunning skins I've worn throughout aren't free, but they're brand new and so awesome. Digit Darkes launched the unDress range of skins last week and I haven't taken them off since. There's something for everyone and a wide range of tones to suit, yay! Now off to work with me, before I change my mind! Ash out.
