Love Donna Flora / Hucci and more Hair Fair

 I didn't do justice yesterday in my post with the gorgeous Hucci group gifts.  Join the subscriber as Eboni Kahn, creator of the Hucci brand, does not skimp on gifts.  This month she included exclusive pieces of two of her new releases.  Above I am wearing the Rouen dress with its bright pop colors.  Today I am showing two non-gift hairs from Hair Fair, both from favorite designers.  The hair above is Andrea from Wasabi Pills; MissAllSunday Lemon makes some of my favorite hair and I adore her textures.

The second group gift from Hucci is the adorable Oulu Romper again in an exclusive color.  The fabulous team over at Deco made the Hivish hair that I sport.  Deco is a store that is not afraid to get out there and they released several designs for men that really special.  There is also a cool dollarbie gift at their booth at Hair Fair 2013

The jewelry I am wearing are from my vast collection of Donna Flora goods.  I first learned about Donna Flora from the Free*Style blog, which I avidly followed way before I joined the team.  Squinternet Larnia, genius behind Donna Flora, always had some fantastic gifts which got me started and left me wanting more. She was one of the first truly elegant designers that I followed, especially her exquisite jewelry.  Squinternet is currently very ill with cancer that has metastasized to her bones.  Some lovely ladies are hosting the Love Donna Flora event that runs July 25th – August 24th to raise funds for alternative therapies and nursing care that she needs to keep fighting the cancer.  About a billion designers have created one of a kind items to help raise funds, items that are often inspired by their love of Squinternet's vast body of work.  The official blog has posts from a myriad of her fans in SL, including one by our very special Teshan Wycliffe, who is an amazing jewelry designer in RL. I was touched by the tributes and took me back to when I got so much inspiration from SL fashion, in which Donna Flora played a major part.  You may also leave a personal message of love and encouragement for Squinternet on the blog.  The sim that is hosting the event has been a bit wonky today so I cannot wait to get over there and begin shopping the event!

Hair Fair 2103: Nitty Gritty - The Best Gifts (pt 1)

Hair Fair 2013 is in full swing. The big crowds have dissipated and you can easily navigate the 4 sim wide event. The sims have been split into three parcels, each one is using the non visible attributes of SL so that you cannot see people in the other parcels and the buildings are all phantom so that you can slip in through the walls if the entry to one is crowded.  The hair is fantastic this year, especially mesh styles as they are now so fully integrated into our wardrobes. Today I am going to concentrate on what I thought were some of the best gifts (0 - 1 L) at the fair.  There were lots of gifts this year and the quality varied. Some were very current, while others were older styles with old textures and/or flexis, so there is something there for everyone's taste. I spend a lot of money at Hair Fair every year and see gifts as a chance for me to become acquainted with a designer's work and the good ones are worth the search. 

One of my very favorites is Alison from EMO-tions (Sim 1 - Cloud).  It comes in two colors and includes the hairbase.  It's not mesh nor should it be.  The textures are really great.  My necklace, from HANDverk, is a new release for the final round of Zodiac.  The Zodiac version is available in 5 colors at a discounted price of L$150. They are 100 % original mesh and textures (I watched Daphne make them so I can vouch!) making it a steal for a one of a kind item. 

eep's gift for Hair Fair (Sim 3 - Brickness) is a fantastic mesh style that has optional bows that change color.  This style is mesh and the textures and sculpting is impeccable.  It comes only in green but it's a really fun green that I do not see around a lot.  Just on that point, it's a keeper.  My woodland necklace from Deco is currently available at Collabor88.  Deco is another brand that does all it's own sculpting and textures in-house and I'm fussy, so I like that.  I adored Sn@tch's new Pop Violence Bustiers and you get all colors in the size of your choosing.  Love them, Ivey!

Another fantastic mesh gift is Ann from Due (Sim 2 - Port).  It is a two tone pink style that can be worn with both casual and dressy looks.  I just wanted to note that it is rigged and cannot be resized and I did have to adjust my forehead (losing all my brains) and my ear angle but both were easy fixes.  The lovely jewelry set is a Hair Fair gift from Zibska (also on Sim 2).  Zibb Scaggs' gift was so generous and included a full set of eye shadows in addition to the jewelry.  Thank you!  The top is a hunt gift I recently found at Auxillary for the Fist Pump Hunt and comes in both Sky and Copper (really nice! TY Tyr).  Auxillary also gave a very generous clothing gift at Hair Fair (Sim 4 - Harbour) though I've not gotten around to shooting that yet.  My shorts, though you can barely see them are from Sn@tch and are for the Dark Katz hunt. It includes a fat pack of leopard print mesh shorts in all kinds of colors.  Again, Ivey rocks!

Last on my list for today is Janetta from Miamai (Sim 3 - Brickness) .  Janetta is a nice banded ponytail that is to be worn with a hairbase. It comes in 6 colors (both "normal" and "fun" colors) and includes matching hairbases and a HUD to change the color of the hair bands.  Awesome gift - thank you, Monica!  The Gouchi earrings are a gift from Herve Faenzo (also Sim 3), who had some of my favorite hairs at the event.  The oversized earrings include a hud so that you can change both the metal and stone textures.   My outfit, which shown here does nothing to show how awesome it is is part of a two outfit subscriber gift from Hucci. Ebony Khan has been releasing one sexy mesh item after the next lately and the gift includes special colors of her two newest releases.  A tip about the subscriber - you cannot retrieve previously sent items if you are a new subscriber so my advice is to subscribe and do not leave.  You can get recent gifts for a period of time if you are a current subscriber.

Hair Fair is primarily a fundraiser for Wigs for Kids.  It is not a freebie event and I personally spend generously at the event.  Each designer is required to give at least 15% of the proceeds from each sale to Wigs for Kids, though I saw most designers voluntarily donating higher percentages.  Everything you need to know about the charity, store locations, maps, and so forth can be easily found on the official Hair Fair 2013 website.  I've provided the sim location (above) of each gift to get you started.  Enjoy!

Cobblestone

Hey all! My lovely friend, Fallacy DeCuir, has opened Cobblestone, a new furniture and accessory store.  She spent a ton of time making the adorable build that will house the store and is beginning to fill it up with quaint and homey items.   As an opening special the new entryway desk set in blue will be only 1 L until January 21.  Cobblestone also has it's own inworld group.  It costs 100 L to join but you get a monthly group gift as well as store credits on all purchases.  For January the group gift is the adorable birdies on branches birdhouse.  I've shown both items with more detail below.  We decided to dress up in our new dresses and other stuff from this month's Collabor88 just for you!

The birdcade does not have to be just for girls! That burly tree branch is made cute by three birdies and a cage that stays so clean with its newpaper lining and fresh birdseed on the floor -- awwwwww!

Fallon

This outfit is not free but I think it falls into what I call an "Amazing Steal" category.  Indyra Originals is one of my favorite stores for sexy, sophisticated clothing, but often that is purchased for a price that would not qualify for Free*Style.  BUT, the fantastic Fallon outfit is only $L100!  I tped the moment I got the notice since I've been in shopping mode tonight. The outfit includes a Victorian inspired jacket complete with ascot and choker as well as a sleek pair of cuffed leggings.  Perfect as parts of a riding or steampunk look.

oh PS! If you are an area searcher like me, beware that there are two outfits named "Fallon" and one is significantly more pricey and they are near each other.  However the other "Fallon" is very different looking.  If this just confuses you, just hit the subscriber or join the group (free) and pick up an official notice.

Deco: 48 Hour Tree Spree! Weeeeee!!

Until Saturday, April 28 at 10 PM SLT, Deco is having a huge sale on every item in it's greenhouse.  Everything is 48 Lindens including the greenhouse itself, which has an original sticker price of 4200 Lindens!  I took a series of photos at the greenhouse to give you a quick indication of some of the wonderful items you can pick up at only a fraction of it's usual cost.  I've admired Deco creators, Orchid Zenkova and GutterBlood Spoonhammer (such a fetching fellow) for their keen design eye, sculpting skills and attention to detail for ages and this is a sale not to be missed.  Visit the sale here: Deco Greenhouse
