So in real life I may be known to have started a fire or three in my cooking adventures [sadly not the fancy flambé kind] but one of the wonderful things about secondlife is that even I can't mess up cooking on it! ^_^ I first discovered Follow Us! on the marketplace within a couple weeks of joining SL. I was taken aback by how cute everything was and how I could afford it without tears! Joining their completely free group hasn't disappointed me; they have new gifts every month and season and the quality is still fantastic.

This cutes cooker has both the coffee pose I'm showing above and another that has you cooking and is the group gift for November. It does come with a coffee mug but I substituted this super cute VIP gift from Sway in it's place. I naturally wanted to get all dressed up in casual cooking-wear so I swooped up the Crystalline group gift by Little Bones, lil grey top by Sn@tch, aaaand flipflops from HopScotch. It was finally time to do one of my favorite freebie things: type random words in marketplace! The marketplace is a treasure trove of items you don't even know you need until you type in elephant and realise there's always been something missing in your life. Typing in apron found me this super cute lil chef set by Plausible Body which comes with multiple color/visibilty options and is just really cute. Here's to hoping your cooking adventures on and off sl go better than mine! ^_^

On The Boardwalk

The water glittered under the hot mid-day sun. Seagulls keened overhead as they flew in circles, and swooped to pick nervously at the discarded scraps along the beach. It was hot enough to fry an egg on a tin sheet, but the salty ocean breeze made the heat bearable. Glorious, in fact. The excitement was palpable. The tinkling of carnival music could barely be heard above the bustling crowd, eager to try their luck at the arcade.

Her Morning Elegance

She woke in the morning to the smell of lilacs, cinnamon buns, fresh croissants, and the sound of the shower running. The toaster clacked, making the browned bread jump excitedly from the slots like a greeting. Good morning! The kettle whistled as the water began to boil.

She smiled, and swung her legs over the side of the bed and stretched. She wasn't one for mornings, but sometimes one comes along that is too good to miss. The sun shone in through the window, glistening on the golden railings of her breakfast cart. She gazed across the room, deciding what to work on today. Finish that short novel that was barely started. A sense of calm flooded her, the whole day ahead free to do what she pleased with it. She slipped into her clothing, adjusting the hem of her skirt, smoothing it over her hips. On her way to the kitchen, she snagged her necklace, pulling it over her head. She pulled her hair over her shoulder, finger-combing the early-morning tangles.

Whistling a sweet, aimless tune, in the key of steaming kettle, she poured the boiling water into the teapot, the bag of cinnamon apple tea already sitting, waiting at the bottom. The moment the water hit the bag, the spicy aroma wafted into the air, carried by the steam, streaming out of the teapot's spout. She took a deep breath in, savouring it. In a moment of epiphany, she turned to fetch a lemon. She cut it into slices and lay them on the saucers.

The bathroom door opened and closed, and she could hear the footsteps move into the bedroom. She smiled, and quickly set the food out, pouring two cups of tea, setting them out as well. She pushed the balcony door open, snagging the shears from the bench outside the door. She leaned over the railing and snipped a few lilac florets from the tree that grew right up to their apartment, then headed back inside. Moving across the room, she opened the cabinet of her love's fabrics and sewing bits and bobs. She stole a length of violet ribbon from the ribbon-box, and tied it around the stems. She closed the cabinet quietly. The footsteps exited  the bedroom, and she moved away from the cabinet, towards her typewriter. She turned as her love reached the living room, and smiled sweetly.

"Good morning."

Hello! I know I'm being relapse, but I will try to run against the clock once again and blog all goodies that is happening until Christmas.

We have With love hunt, this is not a free hunt, the items coast only 10L and totally worth it! From this hunt I'm wearing the dress and the poses with cellphone.

Alice Project is having an advent calendar, every single day until christmas will be a gift. I'm wearing a past one, but they are available for only 50L a great pack full of colors. But if you can wait until christmas  it will be even more cheap.

The bag is the latest group gift from Grasp, it is mesh and came in two sizes. There is a 50L fee to enter.

The boots are from UNHINGED event, is a gacha from Lassitude  & Ennui, is ridiculously cheap for a mesh boot, only 60L per play, this one is the rare item.

The posture collar is also a mesh item from Adore & Abhor for Twisted Krismuss, and is cheap too, only 100L.

Case in point: I was so excited to see what my friends had to say about the final Twi-hards installment that I almost forgot to put on my new free starfish necklace. Geez!

Purple Moon 17,000 Group Gift

Purple Moon Creations has just released a new group gift for reaching 17,000 members. I have been a member of the group for a long time and am impressed with designer Poulet Koenkamp's talent as well as generosity.  Every time the group reaches a milestone we get another group gift and it's always something fantastic like the Elwing Gown in gold.  Mailing list subscribers also received a gift with the 'Rain on Me' earrings, which you can retrieve from the archive once you've subscribed.  Because of the high level of detail in the gown and earrings, I only needed to accent it with a cute clutch, a new group gift from Teefy.
