To Market To Market Find Some Cheap Stuff

Happy Saturday everyone! I thought I'd kick off this post with a confession. I'm currently rolling with ABOUT $137 in linden balance and just like regular mortals, I'm broke for a bit. But really what is SLife without a bit of weekend shopping? NOTHING that's what! I decided to raid MP for something fun and fresh and I'm delighted to share with you that if you're savvy, it will NOT disapoint.

First of all I'm still rocking the free head from CATWA - Freya. I actually quite like it on me and am gonna stay here a bit until I decide I'm not. If you didn't pick it up yet wtf are you doing?

Just grab it, you might want it later.

Top and pants today are each 1 linden. The top is from Blueberry - so you know it's nicely made. Both pieces have huds with TONS of options for textures and honestly even if they didn't, wtf do you expect for 1L ? The top has a long version (worn) and a short one which is more like a bra.The pants have many textures also and fit really well. I get cranky when stuff doesn't quite FIT the body. Both these pieces fit Belleza, SLINK or Maitreya bods.

I popped over to FREE DOVE and grabbed the mani and pedi sets that AlaskaMetro has out there. Seriously - it's a TON of nail polish options for free. They work with either Maitreya or Omega so yes that's everybody. FREE. Did I say Free? Just join the Free Dove group.

These shoes are also a great pick up, 1L on MP plus the pedicure for free for AlaskaMetro. The shoes come with a HUD that allows many texture change options on the shoes in a variety of colors and patterns. Very cute.

My hair today is Rezology also a 1L item on MP.

Now - I feel like this was an amazing shopping trip. 4L spent. Got new top, shoes, hair and jeans. Winning.

There has been a resurgence lately of vintage styles and I am enjoying it. One of my favorite periods is the 1920s so I was inspired to put together this inexpensive look and explore The 1920s Berlin Project. My dress is just one of the freebies (menswear as well!) available at the sim entrance with lots information to help get you started if you want to role play.

Platform Shopping On A Budget

I dusted off the cobwebs of my avatar and made a comeback to Second Life in the past couple of weeks.  It had been quite a few months since I last logged in and I didn't think so much could change in that period of time.  I found myself a nice little sand box that had an 8hr auto return on it and have hidden myself there hahahaha.  I got the urge today after many, many.......many..... days of cleaning out my inventory to do a blog post but where to start?  I've blogged everything in my inventory that I haven't given away or deleted already.  Leaving the platform is a scary experience but I wanted a new outfit. So I hit up the marketplace to see what I could find on a budget.

It's amazing just what you can find when you are shopping on a budget.  Everything I'm wearing (minus the hands and feet, and not the poses) was purchased from the marketplace today and cost under $L200.  In fact it was only a few dollars over $L150.  I struck gold by grabbing a couple of gacha resell items that I am assuming were pull price (since they weren't inflated compared to a lot of other sellers selling the same item).  It's a bit of a gamble when purchasing a gacha item from the marketplace but I did my research and checked their profiles and reviews to see if any nasty comments and there were none.

The hair I picked up is a Christmas freebie hair and comes with ear muffs attached.  I made a copy of it and fiddled with the texture faces to delete the earmuffs.  It leaves a gap on the very top of your head but if you wear a plain headband, or a hat, it hides the bald spot quiet well. The eyes by AVELINE come in a pack of 30.  There is a mix of pupil and eye sizes as well as prim eyes to play around with, and they are free!  The dollarbie skin from 7 Deadly s{K}ins comes with appliers for SLink hands and feet and Tango breasts and also includes two options - cleavage and no cleavage.  I love the little dimples on the face of this skin.  It's a bit dark for my normal day to day wear but for a dollar it's a great pack.

My First Video!

  Hi all!  I put together a look with almost all freebies/cheapies and was going to just put it up here like a normal post.  Well, last night my daughter was bugging me to find a way to make a video of her drawing pictures of foxes (she's obsessed with foxes, lol.)  I asked Plurk and they gave me some ideas and I finally found one.  When I went to edit this photo I decided, hey, why not record it?  So here is the picture and below is me editing it.  I didn't do a ton of editing and the video is long and kind of pointless but I am excited to learn to make videos so I had to share. :)  Enjoy!

Carry on my wayward hunt...

Hello! For the first time in years, I went on a hunt! And I almost finished it. Almost, because some of the items I just couldn't find and since it was late I was about to gauge my eyes out of my head from tiredness. Then came the long task of unpacking, trying on, sorting, and putting together just one outfit to show you. The hunt features over a hundred stores and lasts until may 1st. Since being away from SL for a long time, I'm glad I did that hunt, a vast majority of the stores were unknown to me. Everything you see on the pictures is from the hunt. With very few exceptions : my shape, my hands and feet, my eyelashes and the background. Oh and my eyes, but I'll tell you about them in a minute. As Shayariel was saying on her blog (and darn I just realised I picked the same shoes), the quality of the items offered on that hunt is amazing, and there are things for every taste. I was inspired by the Wallhanging drape from .T O R O., in Morrocan style, and built my whole look around it. With henna on my hands, I could almost smell the scent of mint tea on a hot late afternoon. Look below for the complete credits.

Thief of Fantasy

The Fantasy Gacha Carnival opened yesterday, Feb. 11th, and there are so many goodies, for every walk of SLife. Gachas range from L$25 to L$75.
