Platform Shopping On A Budget

I dusted off the cobwebs of my avatar and made a comeback to Second Life in the past couple of weeks.  It had been quite a few months since I last logged in and I didn't think so much could change in that period of time.  I found myself a nice little sand box that had an 8hr auto return on it and have hidden myself there hahahaha.  I got the urge today after many, many.......many..... days of cleaning out my inventory to do a blog post but where to start?  I've blogged everything in my inventory that I haven't given away or deleted already.  Leaving the platform is a scary experience but I wanted a new outfit. So I hit up the marketplace to see what I could find on a budget.

It's amazing just what you can find when you are shopping on a budget.  Everything I'm wearing (minus the hands and feet, and not the poses) was purchased from the marketplace today and cost under $L200.  In fact it was only a few dollars over $L150.  I struck gold by grabbing a couple of gacha resell items that I am assuming were pull price (since they weren't inflated compared to a lot of other sellers selling the same item).  It's a bit of a gamble when purchasing a gacha item from the marketplace but I did my research and checked their profiles and reviews to see if any nasty comments and there were none.

The hair I picked up is a Christmas freebie hair and comes with ear muffs attached.  I made a copy of it and fiddled with the texture faces to delete the earmuffs.  It leaves a gap on the very top of your head but if you wear a plain headband, or a hat, it hides the bald spot quiet well. The eyes by AVELINE come in a pack of 30.  There is a mix of pupil and eye sizes as well as prim eyes to play around with, and they are free!  The dollarbie skin from 7 Deadly s{K}ins comes with appliers for SLink hands and feet and Tango breasts and also includes two options - cleavage and no cleavage.  I love the little dimples on the face of this skin.  It's a bit dark for my normal day to day wear but for a dollar it's a great pack.

Free fun in the sun

It was the lovely Rachel Raye (of Krave)'s rezz day yesterday and she put out a group gift preview of her new release and I just had to get it.

What Does The Fox Say?

Birdy / Foxes / Alchemy have moved and have some great specials for VIPS.  First up is a new skin group gift for VIP's in the 'pure' skin tone.  I love the almost porcelain look to Birdy skins, make sure you pop on over to the new sim and grab your group gift.
While you're there check out the Foxes store and grab some cute vintage outfits.  Just wear your tag and smack the pictures just inside the door. There is the Peplum top on it's own, the crop top and high waist skirt and the bustier with lace trimmed skirt.  The bustier also has straps which you can add on or leave off.  Beside the outfits you can also pick up your own cute little fox to hold, he comes in blue or pink.   The cute little pocket pet and the black cat at my feet can be found in the lower level beneath Foxes.  They are past gachas from events and you will find a whole wall full of various ones to play.

Three Looks With One Shape

It always amazes me how one shape can change so much and make you look completely different just by putting on a different skin.  If only we could drastically change our looks so quickly in the real world!

Today's post I just wanted to point out three free skins you can go and pick up right now, both groups for the group gift skins are free to join which is a bonus as well.  From left to right - the Happy Valentine skin from Lara Hurley with it's rosy lips and eyebrows is quite nice for those that have red/ginger hair already.  It's not the palest of skin tones but it's still a nice porcelain shade.  I'm not sure how long it will remain out as it was a valentine skin, so last months group gift, so if you want this skin run over to the main store now, join the group and grab it from the wall at the front near the information signs.  The LATE BIRD skin from Enfant is a freebie you can pick up at the event Kustom9.  I love the unique make up around the eyes and the lip stripe.  It comes with three eyebrow options as well as a TMP applier. Lastly the group gift from Lumae, there are other group gifts you can find there if you are a member of Fabulously Free SL and one other freebie group (sorry ladies I forgot to write the name down before logging out *smacks wrist*) but I decided just to show you the one for the actual store group.  All skins for these various groups are this skin I am wearing just different skin tones in each.  The running mascara is already baked on so if this is something you like to wear, hooray you now have one free make up layer free!

I need these IRL

I came across the store Duh! in March of 2009. I was out and about, finding shoes for my sister, and low and behold, here was an awesomely named store, with great prices, and who actually offered lots of colours!

Renee has been working in Blender, and making her own mesh now. These cute little boots are one of the results.

Big Boobie Babes

Big Boobie Babes, for those that are unaware, is an inworld group designed specifically for all things breast enhancement related. Many stores set out group gifts at their mainstore locations for the Big Boobie Babes to come and collect.  There is also a Big Boobie Babes HQ where designers can purchase a board and put up a freebie so you don't have to go grid hopping, you can just pick it all up in one location.  I went to the HQ last night and grabbed a bunch of the items that were up.  I'm not sure how long these gifts have been up, or how long they intend to stay up, so I suggest popping over frequently to check for new gifts.
