Howdy Free*Stylers. How's everyone enjoying their summer? Lotsa frosty treats + such? Good!

It's nearing the end of the month, which means that many ongoing hunts are ending soon; but you still have a few days yet to scoopie some of these free or $1L hunt gifts that I'm showing here. I thought this $1L retro-patterned, cherry + banana-hued dress offered a notably fresh palette; I added this free boho tote bag + 1 of the uber-glam, toothy lipsticks you can still grab at Pink Fuel for free (group join is currently $0L; I'd definitely recommend staying in this group, since the very generous recent skin gift was given out when group join was no longer free). Howdy all, how's the Free*Style life? A casual, bare-legged look for you today (that was actually inspired by these fabby free coral hoop earrings + $2L polka dot shorts), with some super-nice free makeup + lash finds at Skin Fair 2014.
Everything in this look (except the hair + skin) are free; but as y'all know, I usually like to compose a 100% free (or nearly so) look for my posts here, so I'll mention that you can grab a free skin at the Tokyo Girl booth here at Skin Fair 2014 (that works with these free makeups I'm showing here) + you can always nab a pretty free hair via wearable Lamb demos here (although I will advise my fellow frugalistas that if you've got any extra $L whatsoevs this month, hit up The Arcade here to get that yum Truth headphones hair everyone's been loving so hard, before the event ends on the 31st). The headphones are notably well-done -- actually, anytime Truth makes any kind of hair add-ons, it's a definite bet they'll be finished super-premium-like (for example, you can peep how I styled it on my Flickr here). This scrumptiously-detailed pose bike is also free, courtesy of the XIAJ group Notices; I will add however, that free pancakes, no matter how prettily festooned with strawberries, do not travel well on a bikeseat. *grabs flying pancakes; wipes syrup on shorts*

Winter Nomworthies.

The chilly winter months mean . . . time to chow down on SL foodz. Hehe.

You can grab these nom noms I'm holding here for free at Hanauta (see the Styling Credits below); the free picnic basket comes from Poche, and these naughty baby kangaroos are the current free group gift at d-lab (don't worry, yours almost certainly won't go diving willy-nilly into your pancakes like mine did). -- Plus aren't these free tights supercute? You can see another black & white design included in this gift pack on my Flickr here; plus speaking of noms, this store is giving away free frosted cinnabun earrings as well, that you can see here. The white candy sweater has been out since Halloween (NOTE: get it inworld for $5L, since it's $10L on Marketplace for some reason) but I thought these sweet candies & cupcakes print looked so cute against this free hot pink skirt.

We tend to focus a lot on fashion, decor + other "gettable" items here on Free*Style, but some of the best free things that you can experience inworld are the thoughtful builds that you can encounter thruout our metaverse. The Shoe Heaven build (absolutely stunning in its architectural details) at Shoetopia 2013 is a great example of this; another is the spectacularly lovely floating "night market" at the Water Lantern Festival, which sets various stores afloat on lily-strewn waters, complete with colorful hovering lanterns glowing brightly against a smoky indigo night sky -- offering a lush backdrop for some really cute gatcha grabs, like this brown coin purse necklace I'm wearing here by C'est La Vie (unfortunately this li'l event is ending tomorrow (on 11/20), so if you want to check it, you gotta hurry ASAP).

Turns out that plum-dyed leathers + brassy-toned accessories aren't just for those who live in the Garden State, after all.
This 100% free casual look was inspired mostly by these free oversized, disco-ready accessories by Shade Throne (the group is currently $0L to join; you'll see oodles of gift bags scattered thruout the store, containing some yummies like these square-framed sunglasses + gold & black lacquered bangles). Gacha Humping

I know tons and tons of folks are in the Cupcakes update group already but I still want to show the group gift because it's just so darn pretty! Keep in mind that there is a hidden 1L skin amongst the skin specials in front of the "Allure" line of skins also. I am not showing it because I don't want to ruin the surprise for anyone, haha! The cute collar with the handcuffs I am wearing is a picks rewards from DV8. Does this place ever stop with the awesome gifts? No, they don't. The hair styles I am wearing are both gacha items from TekuTeku and are 30L each! They aren't trans, which is sad face, but they are so worth having to buy a few to get the one you want! Also from random vendors are my other accessories. D-Lab, Hanauta, and the other stores of the 6pi sim are having a mini gacha festival. The items run for about 30L and ARE trans, so they make great gifts to friends and random passersby :D
The awesome to the max corsets I am wearing are from Dreams by Sanura Snowpaw. She has various colors out now for 69L each in the Hump Day Happiness event. The pink one is like....*nahm nahm* The prices aren't high for the non-Hump Day ones either, 100L each and 200L-400L for multi-color packs. Not too shabby!

Fun in the Box

I logged on to my favorite alt to find many fun things! The sky box I am in is great. It's very simple, but wonderfully constructed. The tree is a demo that was sent to the Forest Feast subscriber (the demo versions are no copy so they are like gifts you can use! Their plants are AMAZING and I pretty much only buy my trees and flowers there these days.) and I love having trees indoors, I don't know why :P The natural vibe of the sky box worked well with this group gift skirt from Parallel Love too. I think I have to go back and buy this skirt in all colors...the quality is very high.

The pen around my neck makes me happy. Look at how I am smiling! It is a gift from Sanu that gives Christmas themed scribble tattoos when clicked by anyone. The snowflakes and presents and such you see on my body throughout the post are those tattoos. The skin I am wearing is the latest group gift from Rotten Toe. The items at Rotten Toe just keep getting better by the day, seriously.

Another skin I got is a group gift from Romi skins. Romi are in my top five fave skin stores, so I was really sad to hear that they are closing their main store on December 15th. I hope things in the owner's life turn out well so it can be opened again not too long after! For now though the skins are extremely reduced in cost. The last two lines are 400L, but all the previous skins are maximum 100L. And they do MALE skins too. You hear that guys? MALE. Yes. Male skins for 100L. Awesome. Also very awesome is this tiger hat from Cutie Honey. It is the Snow Flake hunt prize and I have a feeling I won't be taking it off for a while :P
