Blogger Challenge: Let's Get Artsy!

After having fun with a few blogger challenges issued by such talented bloggers like the lovely Achariya and Sasy, I've been chewing on some ideas for a fun new theme. While noming on said thoughts, I happened to stumble into the store Wine and Roses. I'm currently in the market for a few nice pieces to fill La Casa de GG & Adaire after he spoiled me with a brand new skybox.

And...there in the shop was a lucky chair! And...it had my letter on it! And...I got this awesome vase! It's such a pretty vase, and I really wanted to show it on the blog, and then I thought...why not make a blogger challenge to incorporate one of the many pieces of beautiful art around the grid in a post? Understandably, the fashion blogs focus on fashion, but I think art can be quite fashionable in its own sense and worth celebrating!

I'm hoping some of those in the bloggosphere have a favorite sculpture, painting, artsy piece of furniture, or anything that creators in SL can dream up to express themselves and feel like sharing it. (And I'm also hoping no one thinks I'm looney for the idea, but I have "plausible deniability" - I'm in the midst of law school exams!)


The Wine and Roses lucky chair vase and Sn@tch's freebie for this week made me think "ballet" and "studio." I happened to see the Baking Cupcakes blog and Pumpkin's post about a dollarbie skybox called "Los Angeles By Night" from Urban Affliction (thanks Pumpkin!) and somehow I came up with this!

I also wanted to mention a pose shop that is perfect for artistic poses called Leafy that the skin goddess Ryker Beck pointed me towards. The poses are really creative and inspiring, and right now they're just $50L on sale! Be sure to go check it out.

3am, all was not well in the Tomsen household, mainly due to my super loud boinking neighbours, who not only woke me up, but Mini Ash too, grrr. And the grid was broked too, awesome. So I was moaning on Plurk about my Sasybum being MIA and me missing her terribly. Well I found out last night there's a terribly good reason for her not hanging out. Shoes. Awesome sauce ballet flats to be precise. Sasy has a new project on the go, named "Flair".

Not only do they have 4 lucky boards (2 of them contain full skin sets) but there's also some yummy group gifts you can claim with your tag active. The shorts come in all sorts of colours, there's hair and jewelery also. yay for new to me stores!

Since Ach's yummy post about the Mia lucky chair skin, and my subsequent buying of the entire store while waiting for my letter, all outfits must now match my skin!!



Good job I won this outfit from Madness & Mayhem, thanks to OKR who sent me there for the Midnight Mania pasties!! The board clicked over to A just as I was rezzing, nice!! Evangeline Schism has been hiding away, hard at work in Photoshop. I love her Eloh mods and I'm stoked to say she's back with newness yay! The manky jeans (that's their name :P) are a limited time dollarbie from KOSH and they're like fecking perfect. The tanks, Evangeline told me about. Maia Gasparini will be opening an inworld location soon, I can't wait to stalk it!



When Dare Monroe asks you what your favorite colour is, you know something awesomesauce is coming your way! Check out these amazing boots from Dare Designs. They will be out this week, with colours to be won in the lucky chair as well as the fortune teller. The top I snagged from Sweeter Than Candy, with a gift card Candace sent to the group. As well as her own designs, Candace is an authorised pixel Dolls reseller, the top is part of that collection and soo yummy! The capris are my staples from, De Designs, not free. The hair worn throughout is my all time fave Kin hair, Cyberpunk. The goggles are seperate, so you can wear them with other hair too!! Now I'm off to shoot zombies or some such :P Ash Out.

I made some incredible finds, the first being this suit from BlakOpal Designs. You can get the ladies version here, and the men's version here.
