Don't take credit for something someone else already covered many times.

Fabulous! you found someone else who have covered this!! Well done! But hey, I think this is worth more knowing and I like the poses, if you don't like it, flip the page, move on.

Dearest Anon, the reality is that there are a TON of freebie blogs and one blog is likely to overlap another with coverage of any given freebie. It happens all the time, and if I chased down everyone who covered what I just blogged, I'd be about as bitchtastic as you. It's also entirely possible, if not likely, Suri didn't see it, because again, there are now a gazillion SL freebie blogs. How about not pointing fingers at someone who does this for fun, eh? Seriously.
/me does the L for loser on her forehead and walks off, whistling.

It must feel nice being so "popular" that you guys don't need to give credit to people you steal posts from, or find your own content to blog.

Suri Christen said...

Thanks for explaining for me, Adaire, as if it's not obvious enough already that I do not read all the blogs avaliable to us. So you saw the same products somewhere else, big deal! For someone that won't even have the decency to leave me their names when they direct a comment at me, I'd say take it somewhere else.

BTW, Anon, that was the first time I saw the blog you mentioned in the first comment, thanks for bringing a new blog to my attention! Maybe now you should go round checking which other blogs have stolen OUR posts.

Jesus Christ.

Lovely post but where is the first skin from!

Suri Christen said...

Eveliina! You can find out what skin it is by buying the shape in Bodyline, there is a style card inside. :)

Bitchtastic, lol! Awesome word :D Wow is all I have to say. Some peeps need to turn off the computer and go outside for a while O.o

Hi

I like "3. Juno (cute!)"'pose and hair :)
Where can I buy the hair?

Adaire DeCuir said...

I rarely get fired up and say what my internal monologue is screaming, but with so many freebie blogs out there, this is a common and not worth slinging mud occurrence. Not only that, but Suri works her cute lil ass off to bring everyone these posts, and knowing how long it takes, I gotta back mah girl up.

Thanks Bunnie <3

This issue again. I may find it rather ironic that the people of this blog accuse other blogs of the same thing yet here poor Suri(who was never among that group) being attacked for an informative and unique look at these free items.

Suri's presentation is more appealing and her approach to the items is unique. Note her use of the original medium to display the poses. Other than the poses, which many blogs will blog by the end of the week, there is nothing similar about the blogs.

Maybe the writers of this blog need to take a look at that themselves. Freebies, cheapies, discount items, gifts, all of these items come from your own discoveries or tips from your readers. Some of your readers overlap and you may have the same tipsters. Just because your time stamp is first, does not mean that you have the right to feel you are the only one who can blog that item. Accusing others of stealing your blogs because they are items that are clearly out there on the feeds, group chats, group notecards, tips from friends is not only silly it is rather rude.

I would just like to say I agree that there are a lot of bloggers that review the same things, but each have their own view. I read as many blogs as I can to make sure I do not do a article the same as others. I did make a comment about this blog calling the President of America a bad name, but he was my commander in chief, which I do have the most respect for! So what if someone reviews the same items? I have to say I really like the pictures of the poses. The Article was well done. You have bloggers that will dog certain designers, and the ones that will never say anything bad about one, no matter how crappy the design is. We have the choice to read the ones we like or dislike. I do not like to read blogs that say they are fashion blogs and dog world leaders,or their wife. but I do like this one, and still read it. People can be petty over the smallest things. If you don't like something, don't bother!

Wow, Anonymous...no need to be so hateful. As my dear friend (who passed away when we were 23) used to say: "It's nice to be nice."

Anyhoo, Suri is very good about giving credit to others when she blogs about something that she's seen on another blog. As a blogger myself, I'm sure I've blogged about stuff that's shown up in other blogs' posts. It's a part of SL. When a really cool freebie or cheapie comes around we all tend to blog about it. Why? Because we want to pass on the knowledge of these fab gifts to others.

Instead of accusing her of "taking credit", you could've simply said something along the lines of "I saw this blogged at this site (URL here), glad to see it again!" As Adaire said, we blog for fun. We don't get paid for this. If you don't have anything nice to say, simply bite your tongue and move on to the next post. You don't have to make someone feel bad for doing something she loves. Suri, keep up the good work. Don't let them get you down.

Are you serious? News flash, nobody even visits Little Miss Lamer. In fact I don't know anyone who is fan of Wrenja. I've seen her in action on lucky chair group chat and she is a big snot.

You don't own the rights to post locations to free items. Suri can link to whatever she wants.

You have used this as an excuse to make another attack on our blog, when this situation has fuck all to do with you. Saw opportunity knocking did you? Hai everyone, I don't normally respond to comments like these and the girls already did a fine job responding, but I wanted to point something out. For all of us here, and pretty much at any blog, our motivation is to share with you what we really love and would wear ourselves, things that you may like, things that are affordable and available to all, so we (You!) All can look great & feel great about how you look.

This was Creamy's vision in starting Free*Style in the first place. She recognized that everyone has a desire to present the best of themselves and that not everyone has a huge budget to work with. This, and most blogs, are started out of looove. <333 And the ones that aren't usually die out when the people realize what kind of work it takes to blog!

For those of you that do blog, I'm sure you know the hard work I am talking about, it takes A LOT HARD WORK AND HOURS to get a post together. It's a lot of work!!! And not nearly as glamourous as you think!!! lol. And if you do think the final product is beautiful/glamours/interesting/desirable then we have done our jobs! ;))) If I told you how just how many hours have been spent by each of us to share with you the things we do on this blog, I bet it would floor some of you!

You may say that we get all these perks as bloggers, but really, ask any of us for the truth which is the majority of the time we are waiting alongside everyone else, waiting for our letter to be called on a Lucky Chair, swimming through pudding- thick 'air'-lagggg to get to the freebie box, doing the hunts as you do. There are rare exceptions to this, but they are exceptions!!

Why do we do it? Because we like to help our readers!! Why do we loose sleep or forgo hanging with friends IRL & ISL?? Because we love our readers and we know you count on us for information!! And we love to comply, because yes, we care enough to help ya.

IMHO, I believe there is room enough for each blog, and as was mentioned above, each blog has their own style going on and each writer presents things in their own individual way.

Maybe instead of attempting to tear each other to bits, we should be thanking each other for the heads up. I know the girls I blog with are very sweet and good people and I'm sure you are as well so there's no need to fight so viciously like this about pixels!!! I mean, they are pretty, sure, there is lots of enjoyment that comes out of them...but they are PIXELS!!! We are all here to learn and meet good people and have fun, so let's do ettt! Lyke srsly!! ;))) xoxo, A

hum I just read the post on the blog Anonymous the 1st gave us: it's about helping Ding from another cool famous freebie blog to get an item in a chair? That's quality info :)

And when you say "already covered MANY timeS", you only post one link to prove it?

You remind me that girl in SL who pretends she has invented flexi prims, and so all made with flexi prims is stolen from her according to her :)

(yay I posted in Anonymous wooohooo! Go all freebie blogs! We love you and need you all!)

Anonymous said...

I just wanted to say that i love this blog and i love finding out about all the freebies etc around. Thank you to all the writers that work so hard to bring them to us and i hope you dont stop just because there are a few knobheads out there that dont appreciate it :)

Anonymous said...

Had to add my pennies worth :p

The girls here go to a lot of trouble to blog for us (and believe me, it does take a lot of time and patience) and for me, Freestyle is the best blog out there.

For someone to come on and attack them is just ridiculous!

Creamy, please don't stop blogging :( this blog always has a unique way of showing things and is pretty much the only one I check everyday.

Keep up the good work girls :)

Honestly I dont understand this discussion here - nobody's blog has the right to preview a "freebie" exclusive or only for the only one.

This 'right'can be given probably from the creator him-/herself to choose a blog to promote a thing before it will comming out.

It's in generally that every blogger can choose the things about it. Getting it from the groups, watching other blogs, getting advices of readers - whatelse. Its much natural that there are a lot of stuff which is in couple blogs at the same time. The secret is: to get this info much early before the main-entire time is starting!

In addition it is to say the quallity is in the choosment of the person who is blogging. Its in the text, its in the time when its blogged, its in the photo which will be in the post. Its too about symphatically for the reader.

And another point is: its a less respect feeling if an creator is reading this .."why this item is in so many freebie blogs". Hey! Behind each item its time and passion - or should be. I don't wonder if some creators closing the groups (only on inventation) to close the door for unfriendly freebie-hunters which dont have a 'thank you' or a cup or respect for them.

SL blogging is a giving and resiving on information. And you all should be thankfull that the freebies became in the last year much more quallity and much more amount as it was in the years before. Now it is possible to create a good looking avatar without giving out many lindens.

Many greetings,
from me.

PS: There might be typing faults. Sorry for this.

I believe we should all show some love to the bloggers like Suri, Feo, Ding and etc. who have spend hours looking for gifts to share their finidings with everyone in SL. It's very common to see the same gifts from different blogs. If you have seen it in other blogs, you can always scroll down to the next post. Because you never know that this post will benfit the other other readers who do not know about the existance of the gift. It's very upsetting to see these comments which hurts and demotivates them.

Hey. I write for the blog that was linked there. I haven't ever said anything hateful to anyone here. And yet, lots of rude people assuming it was me or Wren that wrote that comment. Well, I am tired of it. I am tired of being dragged into the drama. You all win. I'm done. You've crushed my spirit and love of blogging and I hope someone crushes all of you too for fucks sake. Get a life and quit spending all your time making shitty rude comments about people on fucking blogs. I'm done being nice, I'm done caring.

Sileny said...

And when I said "crushes all of you" I don't mean freestyle, I mean the a-holes who start drama and hurt people.

Anonymous said...

I think my question got lost in the dramafest. I was wondering where the 3rd outfit is from (black dress) I searched for S&S but it didn't come up with any results :( if someone could give me any help in trying to find out the store I would greatly appreciate it.

Suri, Thank you for your blog posts, don't worry about the haters who think they own the internet. They just have nothing better to do in their sad lives.

Anonymous said...

You know I read all the free blogs because if I spent actual money in SL then I would be broke. So yeah 90% my clothes are freebies. I'm fairly new to SL and have only started reading the blogs after I found links on the side of POE blog. I have found all the freebie blogs from links on other blogs. And yes all the blogs seem to overlap each other b/c hey most people are part of the same groups so obviously they will see the freebies and blog them.

What it all boils down to:

IT'S ALL FREE STUFF!!!!

No one is getting any money and hey I would think more publicity for a new shop owner is great.

I think like half the people in SL and readers of this blog need to start worrying about bigger things than who is blogging first.

hmm.. i am one who is continuously out of the drama loop, so i always find out about this stuff after people have been hurt. I feel bad for everyone in this - everyone that is except for the sad individual who made such superfluous, sh*t-disturbing comments, and yet couldn't even find the courage to list his/her name. Really brave to attack an injure a whole whack of people, from behind a mask.

As for F*S and LilMiss bloggers, as someone who has just started writing a blog for the fun of it, I respect completely what you are doing. Almost 75% of the time, if not more, I get my inspiration from the things you have found, and I know that the goal, in the end, is to make SL a lot more fun for a lot of avis who would feel left out and leave otherwise.

I wish I could hug all you girls..

Wrenja said...

Okay, I'm just going to say that this wasn't anyone from our blog, so for the haters who keep pointing to us, you can all shove it.

I have better things to do than start bitchy little cat fights on other blogs, and that goes the same for the other girls as well. I can't speak for the people who read the blog, nor can I control them, not that I would know why anyone would feel the need to start shit over something as trivial as this.

I let the blog speak for itself, we have a lot of great content, and great writers. Whether you appreciate that or not isn't important. Anyway, just to reiterate, me, my staff, nor my blog are in any way related to that statement, and it'd be cool if you stopped trying to drag us into it.

P.S.'Little miss lamer'? Really guys? I expect better insults than that, get to work.

Ezerbet Nitschke said...

I really don't understand why the (bravely anonymous) poster had such an issue with a freebie showing up in two blogs. Who cares? All of the freebie bloggers spend a good deal of time and energy letting us know where we can find cool stuff for free or extremely cheap and don't get a dime (or Linden) for it. What's the point in stirring up drama and turn it into something friendly and helpful into something ugly?

百恋芙蓉 said...

If the first post was simply ignored none of this would happen. A dramafest was what the idiot griefer wanted. Technically it didn't even make sense as nowhere in the post did the writer state "look I am the first one to discover this freebie!". I'd suggest speech interpretation lessons for the complainer. :3

Whats it matter if its been covered by many other blogs...its kinda like the 5 o' clock news...everyone is gonna have the same story..just in a different broadcasting format. The ladies that have this blog do a fine job at what they do. Give them credit for that. If you dont like how they do things...then dont waste your time reading it or waste their time writing nonsense about it.

Kudos to all the ladies who run this blog and for the people who are greatful for them doing so.

Wow... so one anonymous person has caused quiet a stir! This is a bit silly ladies, lets not feed this persons obvious anger issues. It seems Free*Style nor Love/Hate bloggers have any problems with each other what-so-ever... so lets let this drama die. Someone from Love/Hate is even taking a break from blogging over this! Miss Anonymous... you have done nothing but hurt innocent people with your drama stirring tactics. I hope you are pleased with yourself and that it has made your, obviously self induced, intense life a bit more exciting. Please, realize peoples feelings are NOT a game and perhaps think twice before you hit enter next time. Oh, and maybe don't be such a chicken and stand behind your accusations by using your name, since you are so sure of your accusations. Perhaps, after you think about your actions, an apology to both parties will be your next move? We can only hope. As for the bloggers... KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!!

Ok we'll stop this now, think we've given anon troll too way too much of our time.

From now on I will turn off the ability to leave anon comments so people will have to identify themselves.

I've also found a tool to track the IP addresses of visitors (unfortunately it's not a feature in Blogger, unlike Wordpress), so if the same person starts shit-stirring with unhelpful comments more than once, I can block their access to this site.

I'd like to make it clear on behalf of the Free*Style bloggers that no one thought that the lovely first Anon the Troll Goddess was someone from the Love/Hate blog. It's a shame people took the opportunity to flame that blog via these comment. We Free*Stylers want to encourage camaraderie amongst fellow bloggers and celebrate the joy of doing of it - not tear anyone down. That's why Creamy posts links to other free blogs on the main page. It's about encouraging each other and as Creamy said, if inspiration is taken from some other blogger's post, we'll be the first to credit them.

Thanks for turning off anon comments, Creamy. Everyone's certainly entitled to have an opinion, but I personally don't think it's too much to ask to have someone stand behind his or her comment instead of hide behind anonymity in order to flame.

Wow how come I never notice when drama is going on around here >_> ?

I think Abra's comment pretty much said it all. Still IMHO I believe people are putting a lot of pressure on us bloggers for something we are supposed to do for funsies.

I am the first one to admit that I sometime see an outfit on another blog and will think that it's a great deal and worth sharing. I always link back to the original post when I do that though and I have noticed that I am not the only one.

Truth is I think we are all basically on the same groups, we have the same sources and grapevine. So chances are when we blog something it will be blogged somewhere else and so what really? Isn't it better that a lot of people blog the same thing if it's worth it? I think we are winners all round! Not everyone reads every blogs so that way more people get to know about the great deals and the creators get more traffic. Unless there is an award for being the only one to blog about something I don’t see where the harm is.

In the end I just hope vicious people like this anon will stop commenting such hurtful things because when you weight on one side the joy you get from sharing deals with others and on the other side the ENORMOUS amount of time a blogpost takes those kinds of comments might just tip the scale to the wrong side…

*shares a big hug with all her fellow bloggers as we walk hand in hand to a land of puppies and rainbows*
