Howdy, Free*Stylers! I saw these free slouchy drawstring capris on this freebies blog here + decided to build this boyish look around them. The shortie hair + top are new free or $1L gifts at the Biker's Fair, and everything except the hip chain, eyes (a paid VIP group gift) & skin (the last Essences gift, which I really hope y'all grabbed around the holidays) are free.

Also (and I have no idea how old or brand-spanking this news is), for some reason, it appears that all of the AOs at the ANA_Mations store here are now free (several to choose from; just be sure to read the NC re: how to load it -- basically, you "Add" the AO + wait for the Default notecard to finish loading; then just click "Menu," "Load," and then [the name of the AO]). -- This is a crazy boon for any new avis; even us oldbies must admit that some of the anis in these AOs are quite cute.

Epic Gifties

I have some great group gifts for you today from Epic as well as how you can get yourself some free store credit!

My first outfit features the Ice Cream Sweater Dress and the Sparkle Crown which you can pick up from the front of the store when wearing your Epic VIP Group tag.  There are heaps of other group gift items to choose from!

My second outfit also has a group gift item, the Melty Bodysuit, but I also picked up a pair of thigh-high socks that came in a pack of four colours - FREE!  All you have to do is LIKE the Epic Facebook page, join the We LIKE Epic group in world and then just follow the posts on Facebook to wait for when the next round of free store credit is announced. While I was picking up my group gifts I touched the gift boxes at the front of the store (the ones with floating text advertising store credit redemption) and I picked up L$500 in free store credit.  Can't go wrong with that.

MUDSKIN Group Gift

I've been pretty partial to just one or two skins for about 4 months now, which is a big deal for me, I used to wear a different skin just about every other day. Yesterday, [MUDSKIN] sent out a notice for a new free group gift which turned out to be this lovely skin called Blossom. The group is free to join. Casual & Unexpected.

Howdy Free*Stylers. Happy new year everybody!
A casual look for you today in muted berry tones, to help complement this freakin' fabby inky berry-lipstained "Emma" free skin that's been plowing across the blogs (including here at Free*Style), for both its striking intelligentsia face + sultry makeup that's come to characterize the Essences line.
This free gamine braided hair gift by Truth was originally sent out in December (it's still available via subscribo; see the Styling Credits below for instructions), but it's so enduringly lovely that I just couldn't resist incorporating it into today's gifties look. And since you seemingly can't have an avi in SL (male or female) without owning at least 1 fedora, this one's $1L, mesh + even sports some distinctive white pinstripes.

For the more experienced hunters out there, the Grumble SIM is hosting an event that this city girl can appreciate: a hunt with zero hints + imbued with a dry sense of humor, where you're rummaging around in dark subway tunnels to actually seek out the vermin, in the form of white rats (yes, rats!) -- each containing an assortment of fun prizes for both men & women. I was hoping to find the sky blue mustached necklace on chunky pearls prize (never found it, bah) but still felt lucky to find the black & yellow heart ring (that you can see in both the 1st & last photos here) instead. For those less ambitious, there's a gangload of lucky chairs + camping (remember camping?) in the main subway station too. Why not park your avi to get these red suede lucky chair boots + let your more ambitious friends scout out the prize locations? Hey, there are worse ways to fritter away an afternoon.

Speaking of frittering, there's nothing like a li'l virtual home decor styling when you're procrastinating RL work. Hehe.
This is basically a jumble of unrelated things that I threw together; worth noting are these free bowtied ribboned platform heels by G Field (normally for wearing, not decoration; luhs that the contoured heels are nice + high). This $1L wooden shelving unit was 1 of my fave finds on the Grumble subway rat hunt; it's modern yet simple, perfect for showing off some of your nicer tchotchkes, like these free stackable paper boxes in pretty pastel watercolors from BananaN.

Hair Fair 2013: Teasing You!

I needed a good excuse to show you this adorable Hair Fair giftie from Bliensen & MaiTai.  Modern Times comes in 4 fun colors (blue, pink, silver, purple) and is only one of many gifts you will  be able to find at the event, which starts Saturday.  Like all of Plurabelle Lazslo's designs (Bliensen & MaiTai) Modern Times is 100% original and unrigged so you can resize it if needed.  Don't forget to join the Hair Fair Demo Group as tomorrow all demos will be sent to the group archives.  You also might want to bookmark Hair Fair's official website as soon they will be adding maps and designer lists in the next day or so. 

Hair Fair 2013 is a charity event with 15% of ALL sales proceeds benefiting Wigs for Kids, which provides hair replacement systems to children who have lost their hair due to a medical condition.
