The layout issue with the pics is odd cos it works ok when I upload mine from computer.
I choose no layout > med size. I then drag the pic into the right spot. I keep it left aligned as messing with the alignment causes all sorts of borkedness in my experience, and I put hard breaks between each pic.
Usually though, I upload my pics to Flickr and then copy the code from there and paste it into the blog post.
