Blog News - Scheduled Posts not Going Live

Hi Everyone,

It seems like all my late july posts did not go live at their scheduled times. The only thing I can think that would have cause this is the new blogger interface being activated. I didn't like it, and have Free*Style still running on the old one, until they actually forced the update.

I wont put up all the posts, as most of them aren't relevant anymore, but over the course of today, I will be putting The Wash Cart Sale ones live. Most of those ones still have content that you can get, as we have all day today for the sale still, and even into tomorrow, cause designers don't pick things up right away, in most cases.

Sorry this has happened, it makes it look like I didn't do anything for about 20 days or so, and that was not my intent.

I will have to keep a watch of Scheduled Content better, as both issues this year have happened when I put a bunch of posts up at a time.

News - Google Archive Issues

If you have been to the blog recently, and started to see this, it is because there has been an issue with the Google Archive system, which stores all our photos in the backend of Blogger.

It only hit all the pics that were uploaded directly, that is why some posts are fine, because those are linked to flickr photos. It seems to just be April posts.

I am in Fantasy Faire this year, and I have deadlines to meet for the store, and not a lot of extra time. I am hoping to have all posts that have this issue fixed by next monday. I am sorry if your experience right now isn't the best on the site. I'll do what I can as fast as I can.

Free*Style Reboot 2020

Hi Everyone . . .

It has been a very, VERY long time. 3 1/2 years to be exact.

I never meant for my participation in sl to cease, or for me to be gone so long. It was abrupt, and totally unintended. With that being said, I am back.

Free*Style has always been a love of mine, and I have been a part of it since almost the start of my avatar's creation. I wont ramble on, maybe someday I will write out the whole story, but I started out making lists for the inworld group(when we had one), as a freebie finder, then eventually became a guest designer blogger. One day, I ended up Co-Owner!

Free*Style is my happy place, when I don't want to work on stuff for my store, or whatever else. It kept me sane for many years, when I couldn't travel far IRL, or put a lot of money into my avatar, in the beginning. It challenged me, I loved finding almost fully free outfits to showcase here. I don't need to now, but it is fun. I also love treasure hunting. I also met a lot of fellow designers, bloggers, and event organizers. I got to see many sides to the digital world we have created.

So I am back, and Free*Style is back. .

It is going to be slow to start. I have to go over all the flickr groups and revamp rules.

I need to check like all the links and whatnot on the site

I don't have a team anymore. I know Sileny is still around, but keep missing her, just noticing her go offline.

I want to bring Shop Free*Style into the future, now that there are mesh everythings for your base avatar.

I still plan on doing tutorials, even more so, as I learn all the new and changed things in sl.

I have to get us back on feeds, we were dropped by many, for good reason, as we were very dormant.

I want to continue to promote those designers that we considered our core. So designers, please be patient with me, as I re-establish Free*Style. I will blog your things, I just can't guarantee how quickly.

I'll have to make a new team, eventually, as Free*Style was never meant to be a one woman show, even if that is how Creamy started it.

There is a lot, but I love it, and when you love something, all the work doesn't really matter.

I figure, on my own, it might take about 3 months to get everything settled on the site. Some things will be easier than others. Some things annoying and tedious. Shop Free*Style might take a wee bit longer to get going, just because there are a lot of connections I have to re-establish.

Update - The next Gacha Minion Tutorial

Hey guys, since I have received a few notecards, I just wanted to let everyone know that the second part is being worked on.

It will obviously be late, as it is no longer the weekend.

I, as well as my RL lil ones, are all sick, so I haven't had as much time to dedicate to it. I will be getting it up, you just got to wait a little bit. Tutorials always take more time than fashion blogging.

Also, an update to the System itself, Gacha Minion now supports older gacha event items, or gacha items that are only sold instore, so were never at an event. This was something I know I desperately wanted, so I hope it makes others happy too.

Shop Free*Style Fridays - Look 1

 As you all may have read last month here on Free*Style, Eden Knoller, then Co-Owner of Free*Style, has left the team due to RL obligations. Due to the demanding position of anyone owning a blog, much less one of this stature, which hosts a team of writers, has an inworld presence and a shop dedicated to promoting many of the grids designers, it's not a job any one person should have on their shoulders. That being said, I have stepped up out of the shadows as a behind the scenes staff member, and have taken on the new role of Co-Owner, along side Sileny Noel.

You, as readers, wont see any big changes, it'll still be the same Free*Style you love and enjoy. Most of the magic I will do will take place behind the scenes.

Free*Style was the first big community in sl that I ever participated in. Back in the day I was one of the freebie scouters, who would go various place(when I wasn't working) and I'd post landmarks, links or notecards full of places for our group members to enjoy. I later became a Guest Designer Stylist on the blog, and have now been blogging here for 4 years.

With comments being turned off on the blog, and the inworld group now being disbanded, I feel that there is a lot less opportunity for your voices to be heard. I have made a Form, which will allow you to have a voice with the Team of Free*Style. There is a section each for Info Submissions, Suggestions and Comments. Each part is explained more thoroughly on the Form itself. You can let us know about something awesome you found while shopping, like a new store, a lucky board, an event. You can suggest things for us to do in the future. You can even tell us how you liked a certain post, a link isn't working right, where get that hair from(example of us forgetting to credit something). You get the idea.

With all that being said, I am doing a new weekly post called Shop Free*Style Fridays, which will feature various designers at our very own Shop Free*Style.
