Most guys would say I have it good. Getting to mingle with the talented ladies of Free*Style with countless readers is one cushy gig, no doubt about it. The fact is that I'm just hoping that the guys notice and read it too. In my 3 years on SL, I have seen some busted up dudes and I have to wonder, "What was he thinking?" You can't deny that the ratio of quality men's clothing to women's is way out of whack, but with a little effort, you can do much better than a monstrous blinging superman necklace, bowl cut, and a pair of business-in-a-box Nikes. So my advice to all my SL bros out there...DON'T BE AFRAID OF FASHION! (And read the blog, lol.)
For my first post, I employed the help of my lovely girlfriend and fellow Free*Styler Adaire to make sure I didn't act a fool right out of the gate. She also helped me write this, so if there are parts that sound a little girly or downright odd, it's probably her, lol.
When we were hunting for some good finds to post, lo and behold...what did we stumble upon but the "promised land" of freebies at The Block! Both our jaws dropped in as we wandered into this room with a "Loot" sign outside and saw all the great vendors who had put out some awesome stuff.
I quickly threw on the free Civvies logo T, careful not to displace my coveted Linkx necklace which is also free from Ekstras . It went perfectly with my Downtown jeans from iNFLiCT (search for iNFLiCT Members Area and join the group for access).
Some of my non-freebies include "Sk8rs" shoes from Urban Bomb Unit ($395L for tons of scripted color options), Ekstras "Giza" studded wristbands ($75L), Philotic Energy's "Enda" hair ($150L) and of course my standard FNKY CC3094 Glasses ($300L)
Adaire picked up some loot of her own from The Block too, including a "Frisky" hook-up tank from Renegade, low rise jeans from DMC, and [ElecTRo Kitty] Nagabutu boots. Again, all of these are available only at the "Loot" building at The Block!
She's also wearing an EarthStones friendship bracelet that was a lucky chair gift and the "emo bracelet" from Needful Things that is available for free in-store. Non-free items include her Back Alley skin in Ultralight by Nomine ($1,000 L), the brand spankin' new Philotic Energy Micha hair in Jet Black ($199 for a 3 color pack), the Bukka Happy Belt that does all kinds of wacky things for $350L, and the Black Cat earrings from Izumiya ($5 L).
We decided to make a quick escape with all our new "Loot" on a ramshackled boat and while doing so opted for another change of clothes. (Adaire adds, "But of course!")
It was time to relax in style and I did so by slipping into a pair of FORM Freedom Jeans that I had picked up at the "Loot spot." The kicks (or "shoes" for those of you not familiar with the term hehe) are Urban Bomb Unit's "Pornstar Slip-Ons" in a checkered pattern. These were free at one time but sadly aren't anymore. However, the scripted color version is available for $495L. Adaire's "Allure" hoodie is a group gift from GearShift as was my Knight hoodie. From FlipSide she sports her "Starz" tintable tattoos that are available for $200L and I don a belt from the same store which was actually part of a womens outfit called Tormentor ($350L). Don't be afraid to buy what looks good, fellas!
I was still lookin a lil grungy in my Ultrlight Torn Junkie 3 skin by Nomine ($1000L) so we decided it was time to clean up a bit and head out to the local open mic night for some "freestyling" of a different kind.
The "Scorpio Dystopia" skin from The Abyss ($2000L) fit the bill and worked well with my complimentary pair of DMC Rough Low Rise Jeans and Renegade Dynamite Retro T-shirt, both from the "Loot" spot. Peeking out from under my shirt you may also notice my Asagi Koi tattoo ($250L) which I found at Garden of Ku.
Adaire wasted no time getting cleaned up either. Her skin is from {Frick} and is called the "Glammy" skin in Tan that was a subscribe-o-matic gift. The "Block Party" tank from GearShift is available for free in The Block's "Loot" room. The "Crossed Bones" necklace is a freebie from Rebel. The bracelets are by Change Designs and available at the German Fashion Expo for free. The Go Ask Alice belt in actually called "Alice" and is available for $100L.
Her microphone pose was custom made by Siennah Elcar from Vital Animations for "The Violent Nightmare" fashion show Adaire hosted a few weeks ago, but it's now available at the shop and is perfect for events where you need a mic in your hand and you don't want to look like a tard with that horrible SL "O face." IM Siennah if you need more information.
Now, usually I am a little more comfortable in the DJ booth but we decided to make some music of our own and even though the place was empty we didn't seem to care. All in all it was a pretty good day so we found a quiet place in the corner of a dirty slum to watch the sun go down. Only in SL are dirty slums romantic.
Hopefully this post will help to offset the schmoopiness Adaire and I are sometimes known to thrust upon you all. I give HUGE props to Adaire for helping me out with this whole process. So... until next time, this is your resident metrosexual and fixer of borked technology, Gecko Gorilla aka "The G," signing off.

Welcome aboard, G (even if you do still need a "ghost-writer"). hahahahahahaha
I also think that having a REAL boy here is fab - beats all those crazy effeminate "boi"-alts that you gals keep heaving on us! ROFL
