Okay so I'm a day late but happy birthday to Sanura Snowpaw, creator of Somnia. To celebrate her birthday as well as the one year re-branding anniversary, everything in the store is half off or more. Somnia also has new lucky chairs (one of which contains my fave cardis) and riot vendors as well as new fortune teller prizes. Fallen Gods has this really cool tattoo layer makeup as a gift for the Where's the Concert? hunt. I love me some David Bowie so this makeup, being inspired by Aladdin Sane, is a total win for me. I used the 10L eyebrow remover tattoo layer from La Petit Morte to cover the eyebrows on the skin, which is 0L on the marketplace. I edited the eyelids in in Gimp post-process so don't expect the closed eyes to look so neat. xD I can do a quick tutorial on how to make them look cleaner when closed if anyone is interested. Enjoy!

Zdjęcia zrobione już chwilę temu, z jakiegoś powodu nie mogłam się wcześniej zebrać z opublikowaniem. Tym razem mam dla Was ładne a nie drogie rzeczy. Eyelash Tutorial Part 2

Hey guys! Sorry it took me forever to get this done but I screwed up and forgot to screen shot one part so I had to do a bunch of it over. -.- Anyway, lol, here is the second half! If you missed the first part check HERE to start.

We left off with you having a few layers of different lashes of slightly different size, rotation, etc. At this point you want to erase any parts that might leak over the bottom edge of the eye or too far outside of it, etc. Basically just clean it up. Then go to the individual layers that are NOT part of the lashes you created and click the eyeball to hide them. If you chose to use the Eloh files that have a million billion layers this is gonna take a long time lol. There is probably a faster and easier way to do it but this is how I do it. Keep the base color and the eye shading layers because chances are you are going to dislike the first attempt you upload and you'll want to go back and try again and you'll need the eye areas for markers or whatever.

Save this! Always save! xD At this point you should have the lash layers you created and a couple of the most necessary layers left. Make sure all are hidden EXCEPT the lash layers you created. Then you need to go to Image-Merge Visible Layers.

A menu will pop up, make sure to check the boxes "Clipped to image" and "Discard invisible layers." After they are merged go to Image- Transform- Flip Horizontally.

Next go to Select-All and then Edit-Copy.

Next go to Edit- Undo Select All, *then* Undo Flip Image *then* Undo Merge Visible Layers. Now select on your top most layer and click Edit-Paste as New Layer. When all that is done save it.

Then do merge visible layers again, the same way as above, and then save it as a .tga file. Make sure not to save the merged image without saving an .xcf file with all the layers first or else when you want to make changes you have to start all over and that's no fun. :/

After all of this is done go into SL, upload the texture (textures uploads are 10L but on some viewers, like Firestorm, you can upload a temporary texture for free that will disappear from your inventory eventually but is good for trying things out before paying to upload them) and create a new tattoo layer in your inventory (it's in the create new clothing menu.) Go into edit appearance and edit the tattoo layer by dropping this texture on the slot for "head." Don't worry about the other slots. Save it and there is your brand new eyelash tattoo layer! You may have to try this several times to get it positioned just the way you want but in the end it's worth it to be able to make your own custom product from scratch! If you have any further questions feel free to IM me! It might take me a while to get back because I have a little kid who needs me, haha, but I will get back eventually.

Seldom Blue have opened a little stall in a corner over SHIRAZ CLUB & MALL. There already are some great stores of well know sl designers so I think it’s worth checking. Seldom Blue created a lovely gold gown called Shiraz Gown. I know that not all of you are fans of sculpted skirts but I need to say this one looks pretty good. It may be troubling while taking a sit but well, it’s a gown so it’s created for big parties and dancing (not sitting;)). Oh and the most important: you can get this lovely dress for 1L$!

I'll finish the second half of the tutorial later today. They take forever to do and I don't have time at the moment so I thought I would share a quick LOTD with some free and cheap goodies involved! This look makes me feel really young, fresh and stylish. Love!

My eyes are from Umeboshi, a new to me store, and they are only 1L in this color. Also if you join the subscriber you get two free tees sent automatically. My hair is from Action and is this month's VIP group gift. They give out a gift just about every month, some months have been more than once since I've joined, and the group has gotten discounts and all sorts of stuff before so it's way worth the join fee. Part One of How to Make Tattoo Lashes in Gimp: Fast, Free, Easy, Fun!

OK! So I am not the best eyelash maker ever but I do it well enough where I think I can help others get a start in creating them. I am going to have to do this post in more than one part because it's long! I am going to post this as if you know zero about creating. So for those who know a little bit I apologize for things that might seem super easy to you. Everyone has to learn somehow! If you don't already have these you will need to go to these sites to get what's required:
1.Gimp- The program we will use to create everything in this tutorial.
2.Eloh's skin templates or any skin template you have made or have rights to. The Eloh templates are free and full perm for anyone who wants to use them. Some of the templates are ten trillion layers, some are only one flat .tga file, choose whichever one you feel like using, it doesn't matter for this.
Once you have downloaded all that stuff and are ready to rock open Gimp, go to File and open up the Eloh skin files. Left click on top most layer of the .psd (if you don't see the layer tab as shown in the photo below and are freaking out, calm down. xD Just click on Windows- Dockable Dialogues- Layers and it should pop up.) Go to Layers- Create New Layer and name it something you'll remember, mine is "lash1" or something like that. Make sure the "layer fill type" is checked as transparency.

Now, there are lots of websites that let you buy your own brushes for Gimp and even some that will give them away free for personal use; this tutorial, however, will show you how to make them with the crappy default brushes Gimp gives you. :D In your toolbox area select the paintbrush and choose one of the slanted "calligraphy" brushes. Paint one medium-ish sized line on the very corner of the eye. (This is why we are using a real skin template; we need to see the eye for better placement!)

Next go back to brushes and choose the regular old circle and choose a small-ish size to erase the line to the thickness from bottom to top that you like. Some people like smaller, wispier lashes and some like thicker Tammy Faye-esque ones, doesn't really matter. Next go to Filter-Distort-IWarp like we did HERE in the photo editing tutorial I did last time. Bend the lash a bit in the middle and just kind of mess with it until you get a curve you like.

Now you should have a cute little curved lash poking out the side of your eye. :D Next go to Layer- Duplicate Layer to get an identical copy of this lash in the exact same spot. Go to the toolbox again and choose the Move tool, which looks like 4 direction arrows. Make sure to select move the active layer/path/whatever you are working on or else it will just move whatever layer is under your mouse, bleh. Move this duplicate lash over and maybe down a little bit to create a second lash.

Now merge this duplicate layer down into the first layer by going to Layer-Merge Down. Then create a duplicate layer of *this* layer.

O.K. If you haven't already done this now is the time to SAVE. Go to File and Save As something like My Own Eyelashes, or whatever you like to call it, and for these purposes choose to save it as an .xcf, or Gimp, file. Also you can totally delete unnecessary layers from the Eloh template to make the file not as huge and scary. Moving on. Do the above steps a couple of times, creating more than one layer of slightly different lashes, until you get a basic sort of line-up of how you want the lashes placed. You can go to the toolbox and select the rotate tool on some new lash layers and rotate them to fit the eye shape.

So SAVE THIS. That's the end of the first part! The second part will come in the next day or two. I would do it all at once but if I post any more pictures on this post it will clog the feeds and be super long and make people mad. So for now take a break and we'll finish in a bit!

IWarp Tutorial For Gimp

Hi all! The other day Eden and I were talking about things we love about blogging and the biggest one is helping people; helping customers find new stores, find affordable items when on a budget, help store owners get more traffic, etc. We decided another way to help people would be to do tutorials! Now none of us claim to be the best bloggers ever but I firmly believe that everyone in life has something to teach someone else and something of value to offer if they dig deep enough. So, with the small amount of skill I have, I bring you my first tutorial! Here is the unedited, direct from SL shot. As you can see, there are lots of pointy looking bits because the SL mesh sucks so hard and makes us look all straight and sharp and stuff.

So first I take the lasso thingy tool and draw around the area I want to edit, in this case the boob, because boobies really should never be sharp. :D Next I open the "Filters" drop down menu and go to "Distorts" and then finally select "IWarp." A new box will pop up with the image of what you lassoed on the left and a bunch of sliders and stuff on the right. There are a lot of options but for this we should check "Move." My picture was over 3000 pixels so for that tiny area I had to move the slider up to 35 radius. Mess around with it to find which number works better for your picture size, etc. All you do then is "push" the pointy parts gently inward with the mouse to make it look rounder. If you need to see this image closer just click it to get to my Flickr.

I did this on a few different parts of the body. It's just a little thing but when a picture is done it can make a big difference! The picture on the left is the before and the right is the after. I edited it enough so that there weren't too many scary, sharp spots but not so much that it actually distorts what the product, shape and avatar in general look like. Like I said, this is just a small change but in the future we will bring you more tutorials and combined maybe we can all learn together and do some cool stuff! Forgive me if this sucked, I am still learning. xD Let me, Sileny Noel, or any of us here at Free*Style know if there is anything you want covered and, don't forget, there is no such thing as a stupid question!

OK so...I don't even play Skyrim. But I really want to! I'm just too broke to buy it right now, lol. But I can still enjoy all the catchphrases and such since I am constantly seeing people Plurk about it, Facebook about it...everything about it. Anyway, whether or not you know or care wtf Skyrim is you can still get this awesome mesh knee arrow from Rustica for free! :D I just like it because I like...well...gore and blood and stuff. Sigh. You caught me. I'm a creeper. Guilty as charged. But a little bloody bandage for RP purposes never hurt anyone! Except those poor pixels. Poor, poor pixels.

The Millenium Hunt Starts Tonight

Oh hey! I'm finally settling back in from a very hectic holiday season and collected a few things to share. FTLO's Millenium Hunt begins at Midnight SLT tonight, January 5th. The organizer, Rhed Rhode, has kindly gave me the scoop and there are a few things to keep in mind. There is no store list for this hunt it's like a scavenger hunt (like hunts used to be). The hunt begins at Pestle & Twig at 12 PM SLT 1/5/12. There is NO hunt object. The item will be hidden inside a regular store vender that has been marked 1 L. The item is supposed to be within 30 m of the landing point and store owners have been asked to not have anything else marked 1 L during the hunt (so they will be like 0 or 2 L). So its like a hidden dollarbie with a free extra gift inside! I did find a few items already. Another really great deal that my lovely ex-wife, Whisper Despres, told me about, are some items marked for 50 L at The Secret Store. The Secret Store is one of my favorite stores and it appears that these are holiday specials as the items are red, green or white/creme. However, most of them are regular items at steep discounts, so you might want to visit before these are gone. Last on my list are the recent daily specials at Baby Monkey. The owner, Pixieplumb Flanagan goes on these release sprees and has begun offering them at significant savings. I picked up the zebra pumps for only 50 L and they are color change so it's a great deal. There are also cheetah pumps and some boots right now; I think the boots are only 25 L.

OK so Mons has some wonderful VIP gifts out right now. In the group notices you can find this lovely skin and in the store you can find a red-lipped skin and red dress combo! This designer is always really generous but giving out two skins within two weeks that are this nice is over the top! The cost to join is currently 100L but, um, 100L for 2 skins and a dress? Totally worth it! The eyebrows on the skin are lovely but I couldn't get them to work right on my big fat head so I used the eyebrow remover from La Petite Morte to cover them up (it's only 10L and tintable to match just about any skin) and just put one of the eyebrow tattoo layers from Cupcakes (came with the London skin but might be in the demo as well, not sure) over it. Multiple layers for the win! I then put on the free eyelash layer from Cheap Makeup and I was quite satisfied.

My necklace (by Lolapop!) and my dress (by Somnia) can both be found at the new event called Etheria. They aren't free but are both fairly priced and the event is pretty cool so check it out! My hair is from Clawtooth by Clawtooth and was a part of the last FLF event. It is still on sale for 50L at the time of this post for a 2 color pack but it could be taken away any time so hustle your bustle if you want it. My tattoo is from Radicalism and isn't free and it's old but I wear it a lot and still love it. xD Finally, my eyes are my go-tos from Croire and my pose is from Long Awkward Pose. Enjoy!

In my opinion there are only a handful of designers doing great mesh products and Jane is one of them. Her products are also very reasonably priced, so if you are looking to try out mesh, I'd recommend Jane as one of your first stops.

I just love when a look puts itself together. I was wearing my white skin and this light blonde hair from Action when I opened the gift from Miamai and wore it. All white with no plan to do so! Ten Dexler from Purrfect 10 has also created something called the 'Skin Bible' which basically has RGB values from all of the major skin designers in SL, a HUGE undertaking. What this means is, you'll be able to go down the list, find the name of the skin you are wearing, and copy the numbers in to local chat for a perfect (or Purrfect) match. I have to be honest with you, I was really curious about the Christmas gifts of Gizza. I knew it was going to be somethings special and I am not disappointed.

Ladies can grab a feather red gown which looks beautifully but also extremely unfomfortable and heavy. Thank God we dont have to bother about it in SL;)

Was Santa A Biker?

OK, think about it logically.  Big fluffy beard, only works a couple days a year, Santa had to be a biker.  Santa is still in shape, going to the gym (story here),  hitting the clubs (story here), but but, don't click that second link if your easily offended by the sight of naked pixels.  I've had the SL morality patrol on my ass lately.

Anywho, Santa went for a ride, sporting some cheapies and freebies from some great stores in SL.

The Brown Patchwork Boots are a hunt item at Death Row Designs for the "A Depraved & Desolate Winter" hunt.  The hunt started December 15th, and runs through January 15th. 

The awesome helmet was a $20L gatcha win on the Razorblade Jacket SIM.  They have a street lined with gatcha machines for the holidays, with some really cool stuff for both guys and the biker chicks.  

OK, and the big find, for just reading this post.  Santa is wearing a "Santa Clause is Coming" tee made my me. (Bouncer Criss).  If you would like the tee, drop me a notecard in-world with your name on it, and I will send it to you! That easy.

Too Cool For a Jacket

I just realized my av was wearing a winter hat but only a tee and it reminded me of those people you see on the coldest of cold days wearing like a coat and shorts or something. So confusing. But oh well! My av is still awesome because it's not actually cold inside computer land. To my knowledge anyway. Anyway, my skin is the latest group gift from JeSyLiLo and it is love. It's a great tone and has huge boobie cleavage. Weeeeeee! I am aware my eyebrows don't match my hair color but I am having that issue in RL at the moment since I am late for my salon appointment so it's more realistic, eh? My hat-hair is a group gift in store from BC322. I usually am in the know with BC322 but at some point I had left the group for space and forgot to rejoin. D: Luckily I saw THIS blog post in the F*S Flickr pool that reminded me I had been missing out. So thanks Doudi and everyone check out her blog, it's nice.

Cat Face, I Got a Big Cat Face

I watch too much Youtube. Anyway, How cute is this little cat mask head decor from Ni.Ju?! This girl always be making the cuteness. Check her store for more goodies and deals and just plain good stuff for sale. My shirt is from Tarnished and is part of the sim-wide hunt at Onyx Noir. The hunt lasts through January 2nd so you have a bit of time to find all the prizes. Items are scattered around the entire sim, some inside of stores and some just out and about. Look for a cute lil' teacup.

My skin is from a newer skin store called Matrioska and is by the creator of Blue Blood. It's not free but I really can't resist a skin in vamp pale with crazy makeup. Seriously. Especially one with cutesy doll-esque features. Love!

My Favorite Holiday "Stuff"

Most of my blogging time is spent on wearable items. But without all the amazing "stuff" in SL, it would be as boring at the platform where I spend most of my SL time. Lots of awesome creators of home items, animations and other things that make SL fun have jumped on the holiday bandwagon by either participating in hunts, advent calendars, 12 days of Christmas, and other ways and I wanted to take the time to feature some of my favorites. This is in no way an exhaustive list but a few I found worth the trips around the grid.

I would be completely remiss if I didn't start with FD Decor. My friend, Fallacy DeCuir, has her entire sim decked out with holiday goodies. I swear it has more stuff than Bronner's Christmas Wonderland in Frankenmuth, Michigan, which is a place my grandparents lived near when I was a child and once caused my then 5 year old son to have his first anxiety attack, which he remembers to this day as "chest". If any of you know Fallacy, she tries to make off as if she is some scary mean girl but I think she is a doll and anyone that makes little flowers with happy faces definitely has a bark worse than her bite. You have to go there if only to see her sim. When you get over the shock and find the main store, you will find several lucky chairs and lucky presents with awesome prizes. She also has a log cabin in the Midnight Mania as well as participating in several hunts.

Next is C&D Designs. Lovely Cherelle Capra, sister of Helena Stringer, fellow Free*Styler and maker of wild hair (we miss her terribly), has been creating for as long as I can remember. Cher frequently sends out gifts to her subscriber groups (supposedly a big one is coming as soon as tomorrow). She also has some spectacular items out in hunts right now. The two builds in the collage are hunt items. She also is participating in Royal Living's Snowman Hunt, which ends on the 15th. Those items cost 45 L each but are huge gifts worth hundreds more. I apologize for forgetting to take a photo. Cher also has an advent calendar at her store for members of her inworld group. The cost of each of those items is 1 - 10 L. The group is free to join now until 12/24. The group will have a fee after that and an extra special gift is planned for December 25 so get in now if you have the space.

Lots of bloggers have been showing items for the With Love Hunt. It is one of my favorite hunts right now and I will easily shell out 10 L for such high quality items. This includes a sample of some of the non-avatar items, though I did want to also mention Adorkable and Status, who have really nice pose packs in the hunt.

Page Eames from LaFlat gave me permission to use her and Plurabelle Laszlo of Bliensen&MaiTai's ad texture for their 12 days of Christmas event which began today. The two designers will provide free gifts for the next 12 days at their adjoining shops. I adore these two women and highly recommend the visit.

A new place to me, Dirty Little Secret, has a in-store hunt going on through the 25th with 10 prizes to find. I am showing one, the tree stump lounger, but there are others from furniture to cuffs/collars. They are hidden in the store and enclosed area as well as the skybox store.

Baby Monkey's 12 days of Christmas begins tomorrow with this gift. Yeah, this stuff is wearable but this is always a very popular event and includes shoes and accessories. It is free to everyone. The group is currently closed to new members as there is a big celebration but make sure to check out the numerous lucky boards, the midnight mania as well as super-cheap (like 10 L) cute shoes during your visit. You can find the item hidden in one of the ornaments on the tree. Pixieplumb Flanagan has told me she will keep each gift up for a few days in order to give more people a chance to get them. A new gift will be added daily.

Other places I've really enjoyed this holiday season have been the Advent Calendar at KittyCats, which Sileny mentioned in a previous post. All items are free and I was able to get past gifts which I had missed, which was a really nice feature. Also, Sway's, as in previous years has a fantastic advent calendar. Her's are a bit challenging because you have to go find the hints but it has definitely been worth it. Zacca and nonino have joined in this year and made it really special. Adorkable has also been giving out a free pose every day during the holiday season and there are still several more to pick up. She is also participating in the With Love and POE hunts so she is offering an insane amount of free poses right now.

All these designers have put in countless hours at little to no compensation to provide us with wonderful gifts. When I think about where to spend my lindens, I feel it's important to support folks like the people I've written about above. Give back if you can!

Pretty awesome! The clock is one of the KittyCats advent gifts, this one from Intrigue Co. It's cute and the eyes and tail swing back and forth. Basically you just go to the KittyCats store and click the dates on the board in the center of the store and each date gives you a new gift. Everyday there is a new one but you can get the past days too. My bodysuit and skin are from Adore&Abhor and are 100L each for the Twisted Krissmuss event. We also have a new release item out for around 50L each day through Christmas.

My hair is free from Fab-u-lous has a Christmas gift. Very cute and several colors are included. My eyes are from A Netherworld. A Very Beary Christmas!

I'm just jumping in really quick to show you this adorable polar bear decor from MiaSnow. MiaSnow is an awesome designer and her store has been one of my faves for a looooong time. I often show her skins, makeup, clothes, accessories, etc. but now it's time to show a little something different. The bear sits on top of a little snow pile and some snowy, glowy grass with all kinds of fun sparklies. The star flashes colors. The colors are pretty vibrant but for some reason all my snapshots captured the star when it was in mid-blink and dark. -.- Anyway, grab it free in the Midnight Mania board at MiaSnow main store! The target is only 99 so go fast before it locks.

With Love Hunt Preview

Hi all! One of the best hunts of the year begins on Friday! Chic Management is sponsoring it's fifth hunt, the Wish Love Again Hunt, which begins December 9 and runs until January 6. At least 100 stores will be participating and the purpose of the hunt is to thank everyone for support throughout the year. There is no specific theme so thankfully (I say) the hunt is not full of santa teeshirts. Each item in the hunt will be 10 Lindens and most stores will have just one item. I was lucky enough to get a preview of some of the items and hopefully will show a few of my favorite items over the next several days.

I really liked the little black cocktail dress from Kunglers. I undersaturated the large photo a bit so that you can get a good look at the ruffles that cover the shoulders and skirt of this dress. It has a little v-cut at the neckline which I think gives it a nice current touch. I decided to go for an edgy look and found some skin and accessories that are currently available. I love the Gio (Black Snow) Skin at TDR right now. My ex-partner always hated when I would wear skin like this but I just love it. I guess the skin won! Lovely, lovely Brutus Martinek from Pididdle has the Unicorn Horn sets at Zombie Popcorn's Dark Winter Magic event that runs through the 15th. I love the jewelry Brutus is making these days. It's fun, recklessly individual and tres glam! As far as edgy, you can't get much edgier than Purrfect 10's new killer heels. Not free but each pair includes an additional black pair and group members get an additional 25% off the purchase price.

Ivalde's Advent Hunt

I have about a million reasons why I adore Nefaria Abel from Ivalde. Not only is she an extremely skilled clothing maker, but she is tops on my list as one of the most generous on the grid. I am thrilled to see some new interest in her work from the Vintage Fair; she has been in SL for as long as I can remember and her primary pursuit has always been period pieces. I adored her work under the L'Abel brand but that is a highly saturated market. Anyway, she has always consistently given a monthly gift to Ivalde group members, had lucky chairs and in-store hunts, participates in the occasional grid-wide hunt (she is in POE right now, which is organized by one of her trusted representatives, Sequoia Nightfire, designer in her own right with Aurora Borealis), and an advent tree every year. I am overjoyed that this year, instead of killing herself making new pieces for an advent tree (and how many Christmas shirts do we need) she is handpicking an item from her collection to be free every day until Christmas. Anyone can buy the gift; but only group members can pick up a daily hint which really cuts down on hunting time. The items I'm showing above are some of the past daily items so they aren't free anymore. And the item isn't always red or green. Today's item is black. I don't hit all the advent events on the grid these days but this is one I would hate to miss, mostly because it provides me with a chance to get excited about Ivalde all over again.

I recently had the pleasure of chatting with Annabelle Couturier the designer and owner of Cannibelle. She is a sweetheart and makes lovely lingerie and tattoos. What really impresses me about her work is that she her items have not only all clothing layers but include a tattoo layer so the items are so versatile. The sets shown here are available for Black Friday for only 20 L each. There is another set, Kitty, that is a cute retro look as well as the Efa tattoo, which I completely forgot to shoot in my post Thanksgiving daze, that are also available for 20 L. Claudine and Kitty will not be sold after this event, which ends Sunday at Midnight SLT. Agnes will be unavailable in black as of Monday and the Efa tattoo will be full price as of Monday.

Sileny TP'd me to December to nab these awesome unisex retro frames off the lucky board. I really fell in love with December after picking up her items at our 444 event and these are some of the best version of this style that I've seen in SL. Hey guys, what's up? I'm just sitting here cross eyed and mouth open like super cool and stuff. xD

If you want to look this goofy and awesome check out the Anypose HUD. OK, well, maybe you don't want to look goofy. Maybe you just want to have your eyes look straight ahead without positioning some box and trying to focus on it or taking 12,000 photos until you get one that's looking forward. Well, this free HUD can do it for you! I was told about this HUD on Plurk and when I tried it I couldn't believe my eyes. Well, couldn't believe they were looking forward without any hassle, that is. I'm showing the HUD on my screen so you can get an idea of all the things it can do. You can alter hand position, facial expression and eye position. This is completely necessary for any blogger or anyone who takes photos regularly. I haven't been this excited about something in a long time. And it's freeeeeeee!

The gorgeous skin I am wearing is from Al Vulo and it's a group gift at the store. This store gives out regular gifts and they are always top notch. I am really loving their items so buy some stuff too while you're there to keep the gifts coming, haha. I took straight SL shots without editing them at all (other than a bit of vignette at the corners and a black frame and cropping, nothing that affects the actual product) so you can see how nice it is. :)

OK that title doesn't really have anything to do with this post other than I thought these shorts from C'est Moi made my av's hips look super good. Haha! All these colors are making me feel super early 90s and I am cool with that. I'm also cool with this free big fat braid from D!va! I haven't had hair long enough to do a style like this in RL in a long time and FINALLY I can get awesome braided do's! I don't have to be as jealous of my av now. :P Though I am still pretty jealous of her bangin' bod. :D

My tank top is from Somnia and it's a gift at the Seraphim HQ. I was going through my recent items tab trying to find something from the last week to match stripes. I had plaid, polka dots, leopard print...you name it. I almost gave up and scrapped the outfit when I saw that not only were these tops free they were in a plain fabric AND in more than one color. Somnia saved the day! To finish off my crazy color explosion I chose to wear this skin from Mother Goose with over the top blue eyeshadow. Not just for grannies anymore!

MenStuff Hunt Has Begun!!

The MENstuff Hunt kicked off today!  There are 150 vendors total in the hunt and it lasts until December 25th.  

I went to a handful of my favorite stores today, and this is what I picked up.  Guys!!  There is no excuse to look like ASS on SL anymore, I put this together in 30 minutes in just the few stores I went to.

Almost everything is marked down by 50% at Evie's Closet right now. Some of the most gorgeous, delicately textured fantasy clothes you will ever find and so many at half price. The outfit I'm wearing above happens to be FREE. It is the Midnight Mania there which when I looked just a little bit ago still had lots of slaps left...probably because you have to find it! Look for the Vintage section and you will find it. It is a special version of Amerie's Bower, which I fell in love with at Fashion for Life earlier this year. I picked up the crown and collar set for some ridiculously low price. There are some exclusions to the sale: the newest release, bridal, kids, vintage (which is already inexpensive). Before I forget, there is also a sale at Red Mint and includes even her newest skin, No. 07, which I am wearing above. I love it's fierce realism. I'm a sucker for my sweet faced Eden but sometimes I just need to be something else and this skin gives me that without having to slap you in the face with it.

If you ever see me out and about in SL I'm usually in some mishmash from blogging and sorting and often shoeless, sad to say but true. But I could not, would not resist the Lumina Nymph outfit from Evie's. I am ready to forsake all my clothing and spend the rest of my SLife in it even though I have nowhere to wear it. The textures are divine, the dainty placement of beads that resemble droplets from the sea, the flow as it moves and no fish feet! I am sure there are some of you out there who understand completely that love of something so beautiful it MUST be in your collection. I suggest you all go down to Evie's and get one before the sale ends.

Halloween Comes to Starlust!

I almost hate to post on top of Sileny's post today because she looks so darn cute but I think you will really like the things I am going to show you! My love for Starlust and the folks that inhabit it is no secret. They were generous to host our 4.44.444 event at no cost and I think that the people that set up there are super talented, straight up real folk and work hard to create original designs. I wanna be a polygamous partnerer and marry them all to be honest but probably not even Appy from Pig would take me up on it.

Here is the deal there: Through Halloween start at the motel lobby and pick up a folder that will tell you who has treats at their shops. (Not every store is involved - Eden bawls her face off) The folder will contain a note that has an up to date list of treated stores as well as a cute map to help you find your way about. Those stores will have a pumpkin near or right in the entrance with a bright orange pumpkin that has a message along the lines of "I have a treat for you". Touch it and get the goods - it's that easy! Allegory has decorated the sims with lots of pumpkins (she makes some of the best around) and they are for sale (go to Schadenfreude for a huge selection), so don't confuse them with the treat pumpkins.

Also, Schadenfreude has her annual trick or treat pumpkin at her store. Go inside the elephant and look for the free one. Allegory makes these goodies for many of the holidays and I look forward to them every year. They are wearable and give out treats to anyone who touches them.

I've not shown you every gift because I have to go do a ton of RL things but its a lovely event. Before I forget all about it, Nefaria Abel, another awesome creator has decided to close her L'Abel brand, another sad for me! Everything has been significantly discounted. I picked up some bloomers from this year's summer collection that I had been coveting for only 10 L. Another do not miss!

Happy Saturday! I have a few things here I think you'll enjoy. First off, this dress and hair flower is from one of my fave stores, Deviant Girls, and is hidden in a pumpkin patch at the Voc Linda sim. Basically you go to the Voc Linda church and find 2 pumpkins, one with this dress/hair flower and a second from Chocolate Atelier that contains a sheer, black dress. Almost all of the pumpkins are set for sale but only 2 of them contain the prize. The hair is a group gift from Yuna's, a store we have blogged before that not only has nice hair for sale but is also very generous with gifts. The hair comes in 3 colors, each with a different bang style.

The skin is from the Lavanda sim hunt. The hunt isn't hard, just a little bit confusing, haha. Basically, you join the Lavanda mall group and TP to the shopping area. You click the sign that will give you a funny head/hat thing to wear. You look around all the shops and click the little black halloween goodie bags. Once you find all the bags and the map you can click the last sign for an LM to the secret prize room. Inside you will find a bunch of gifts from amazing stores, such as this skin from Mother Goose's. Have fun!

I have ten million things I want to blog and am SO TIRED and all the V3 viewers won't let me use shadows and I'm SO LAZY and and and...whine whine whine!!!!! But enough whining! There's no whining in blogging (or crying in baseball, apparently.) I'm feeling the fall colors at the moment. Yes, I love my brights, but I also love me some gem tones and colors reminiscent of autumn leaves. This dress from Addict is my favorite color! Green makes me sooooooo happy. Not enough deep greens in clothing I tells ya! The tights are just the perfect knit for fall. You know how in RL when it starts to get chilly and you want to wear you're dresses but don't want to freeze your legs off? Knit tights are my go to item for that. You can get them in the fortune teller machine at Sn@tch in the dark color pack. I'm wearing one from the light pack though because...I felt like it. :P

I know Eden already beat me to blogging the pipe from the Vaughan's hunt but, oh well, you can deal with seeing it again. :P I'm happy to see Marleen back making things again after Marly's closed a while back and if you head to the store you'll see lots of fun stuff that will make you happy too. The tattoo is SO FUN and it's free in the Seasons Hunt from Miss Shippe's Studio. This store is just jam packed with creative, whimsical, FUN things for your various body parts. Another store that is stuffed to the max with creativity is Solidea Folies and for a limited time you can get this great autumn necklace free in the subscriber.

I had to include some house items from La Flat as well at Dutchie because I feel like we just don't show enough of these things. Plus I'm a sucker for vinyl records and cheese soooo...woo! These boots are from AnE Meshworks (Adam N Eve's new mesh items line) and are NOT free but dang they sure are cute. I may not love all mesh clothes but the shoes and furniture I am seeing from stores lately have me clapping my hands with joy, even if I have to use the mean old V3 viewers.

Hey, It's the Little Things in Life

Today has turned out to be an interesting day. I was having a full blown panic attack the likes of which I've not had for years; the kind where I think I am having a heart attack and will die at any moment. Since I wasn't dead on the floor I decided to clean and worked through the worse part. When I logged on SL a friend IM'ed me right away (which I hate!) and invited me to chat with some other people. My usual response is to politely decline, but I didn't, and I got exactly what I needed. Then Marleen Vaughn, who I remember from way back in the day from her store, Marly's, which I adored for her funky retro styles, contacted me about her new store, Vaughn's. She is having a little hunt at her store for 3 items, the pipe, the scissor's necklace and the lovely grey top. She is sweet and I am so glad to see her back in action.

Cupcakes has been having a hunt all month at their sim with fantastic prizes: Skins, clothes, eyes. Several of the sim stores also have hunt items and all are free. They are easy to find and it's a lovely sim to visit. I don't know why but I particularly loved the cold grey eyes that came in a large set. Nice size, which I'm very fussy about. Another little thing that I found on a recent journey is this Maori-style chin tat as a subscriber gift at Miss Shippe's studio.

It is refreshing to find that SL does include lots of cool people, some who are friends that care, some who do their own thing and make interesting items. No drama, no heartache. Just people at their comps, probably in their jammies drinking coffee or whiskey. Good times.

Coco Designs has a brand new range of mesh avatars and clothes out called DollCoco.

The 'Dolls' can only be viewed properly in a mesh enabled viewer.

Different heads are available as are a number of specially made clothes and accessories. This dress is free but you must purchase the head for 450 L.

You have your choice of free doll bodies. The white is shown here. Black is also available.

It's hard to say whats going to happen with mesh and avatars, but regardless, this avatar is a lot of fun. Check it out!
